When we launched our âBrighton Rocksâ campaign, we had no idea what was about to happen...
We set out with a simple vision to raise vital funds to support life-changing Music Therapy programs across our Sussex NHS hospitals.
First, we asked our incredible community to dig into their attics and closets to donate their old, unused guitars. Then, we handed those instruments over to a line-up of phenomenal local artists, challenging them to transform the guitars into stunning, unique works of art inspired by legendary musicians.
We will be exhibiting them at the gorgeous Helm Gallery and auction them off at the end of the year.
To say the results have blown us away is a massive understatement. The response has been more than we ever could have hoped for.
Just take a look at this absolute beauty! This stunning piece was created by the extraordinary local collage artist Michelle Franchini, who took her inspiration directly from the iconic music of Moby. It is a true masterpiece, and pictures barely do justice to the detail.
A massive thank you to Michelle, to everyone who donated a guitar, and to the artists pouring their hearts into this campaign.
You are helping us bring the healing power of music to patients who need it most.
Weâll be posting the exhibition dates at The Helm Gallery soon.
