When we launched our “Brighton Rocks” campaign, we had no idea what was about to happen...

We set out with a simple vision to raise vital funds to support life-changing Music Therapy programs across our Sussex NHS hospitals.

First, we asked our incredible community to dig into their attics and closets to donate their old, unused guitars. Then, we handed those instruments over to a line-up of phenomenal local artists, challenging them to transform the guitars into stunning, unique works of art inspired by legendary musicians.

We will be exhibiting them at the gorgeous Helm Gallery and auction them off at the end of the year.

To say the results have blown us away is a massive understatement. The response has been more than we ever could have hoped for.

Just take a look at this absolute beauty! This stunning piece was created by the extraordinary local collage artist Michelle Franchini, who took her inspiration directly from the iconic music of Moby. It is a true masterpiece, and pictures barely do justice to the detail.

A massive thank you to Michelle, to everyone who donated a guitar, and to the artists pouring their hearts into this campaign.

You are helping us bring the healing power of music to patients who need it most.

We’ll be posting the exhibition dates at The Helm Gallery soon.

Happy Philippines Independence Day to our incredible NHS colleagues!

Today, the hallways across University Hospitals Sussex are feeling a little brighter, warmer, and a whole lot more joyful as we celebrate Philippines Independence Day alongside our wonderful Filipino staff!

Our hospitals simply wouldn't be the same without the passion, dedication, and world-class care our Filipino colleagues bring to our patients and teams every single day. From the frontlines of patient care to the quiet moments of comfort on the wards, your kindness and resilience shine through in everything you do.

We want to say a massive thank you to our Filipino NHS family for choosing to care for Sussex, and for bringing your rich culture, vibrant energy, and beautiful community spirit into our hospitals. Today, we celebrate you, your heritage, and the immense difference you make to our NHS family.

Please join us in wishing all of our fantastic staff a happy and joyful Independence Day.

Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

We recently sat down with Lisa from the NatWest team in Chichester after they completed an incredible bike challenge for My Charity and raised ÂŁ870.56 for Sussex NHS hospitals!

We wanted to know what drove them to push through the miles, and Lisa’s reason is deeply personal.

Lisa shared that she recently went through treatment for Breast Cancer right here in Sussex.

For Lisa, this bike challenge wasn't just a team-building exercise; it was a profound way to give back to the NHS teams who saved her life and supported her through her toughest days.

Every pound Lisa and her team raised stays right here in Sussex, helping us fund:

Advanced medical equipment.

Comfortable, welcoming environments for patients navigating difficult diagnoses.

Vital wellbeing initiatives for NHS staff.

Lisa, thank you for your incredible fundraising efforts, and thank you for your bravery and vulnerability in sharing your story. It reminds all of us exactly why we do what we do.

A massive shoutout to the entire NatWest Chichester team for your energy and community spirit!

You are helping us make a tangible difference to healthcare across Sussex.💙

Feeling inspired by Lisa’s story? Whether it’s a team challenge or a personal milestone event, your can help us support local NHS in Sussex.

Are you ready to swap your daily routine for the adventure of a lifetime?

Have you been waiting for that sign to finally tick a massive, life-changing adventure off your bucket list? This is it.

We are officially inviting our amazing Sussex community to join My Charity and The Different Travel Company for an unforgettable journey: The Trek to Morocco 2027!
We are putting together a team of local legends to conquer North Africa’s highest peak, Mount Toubkal (4,167m).

Imagine leaving the usual weekly grind behind to trek through dramatic landscapes, sleep under a blanket of desert stars, and stand together at a breathtaking sunrise summit.

Aside from the sheer thrill of the adventure, taking on a challenge like this does incredible things for your own health and happiness:

- Trade the endless scrolling and daily stress for fresh mountain air, rugged trails, and wide-open spaces. It is the ultimate mental reset.

- You don’t need to sign up with a group. Most people join solo and come back with lifelong friends, bonded by the laughs, the challenges, and the shared triumph of the trail.

- There is no feeling on earth quite like pushing your limits and realizing exactly what you’re capable of. You’ll bring that fresh confidence home with you.

The best part? Every step you take and every pound you raise goes directly to supporting patients and healthcare heroes in our local Sussex NHS hospitals.

You’ll be changing your own life while helping to save others back home. 💙

Whether you’re a seasoned walker or a complete beginner ready to train for something massive, we want you on the team. 2027 is your year. Let’s do this!

Spaces are limited and registration is officially open.

Sussex businesses and music industry professionals, we need you! -

We’ve launched Brighton Rocks, an extraordinary creative initiative raising vital funds to support music therapy across our Sussex NHS Hospitals.

The concept is simple: We are taking old, unloved guitars, placing them in the hands of incredible artists to transform into unique pieces of visual art, and then passing them to legendary musicians to be signed ahead of a grand charity auction.

We have backing of the fantastic events team at JOY. Concerts, alongside signatures and support from iconic names including:

- Peter Hook (New Order)
- Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD)
- Simon Gallup (The Cure)
- Fatboy Slim
- Skindred
- Lucy Spraggan

In December, this stunning collection of guitar artworks will take center stage at the Helm Gallery in Brighton for an exclusive exhibition.

But to maximize the impact of this project for our patients, we need your support.

Guitar Sponsorship: We are looking for corporate sponsors for each individual guitar. Align your brand with iconic music history and vital healthcare charity work, gaining excellent exposure in the lead-up to and during the December exhibition.

Guitar Donations: Do you or your network have old, unused guitars to donate to our artists?

Industry Connections: If you work in the music industry or have connections to artists, managers, press or labels who would love to support this cause, we want to hear from you.

Music therapy provides profound emotional, psychological, and physical support to patients in our hospitals during their most vulnerable moments. By partnering with Brighton Rocks, your organisation can help ensure this vital care continues.

Want to collaborate, sponsor, or donate?

We are absolutely thrilled to share this fantastic ITV Meridian feature covering our upcoming fifth NHS My Music charity gig with JOY. Concerts.

We are bringing the legendary Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) to The Brighton Centre for what promises to be an unforgettable summer night of hits.

What makes this concert so special are the deeply personal stories behind it. Speaking with the crew, OMD’s lead singer Andy McCluskey shared his own profound gratitude for the NHS. After undergoing vital treatment for atrial fibrillation 15 years ago, Andy credits the NHS with fixing his heart, allowing him to keep doing what he loves and running around on stage today. As Andy beautifully put it: "I can still run around on stage because the NHS fixed my heart. The NHS benefits everybody, and music benefits everybody."

Profits from ticket sales are supporting incredible NHS initiatives across the county, including fundraising toward the state-of-the-art equipment needed for the brand-new Sussex Cancer Centre at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

A massive thank you to journalist Malcolm Shaw and the team at ITV Meridian for helping us share this story and highlighting how music can heal, support, and make a lasting difference in our community.

We’re looking for a squad to take on Tough Mudder to raise vital funds for our NHS Hospitals!

This year, we want it to be even bigger. This isn’t just about the obstacles; it’s about what happens when a team comes together.

- Nothing clears the mind like a literal leap of faith and a lot of fresh air.

- We start together, and we finish together. No Mudder is left behind!

- That orange headband hits different when you know you’ve earned it.

- Every penny raised goes directly to supporting patients, their families & NHS staff when they need it most!

It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be challenging, and yes... it’s going to be STUPIDLY dirty!
