The Robin Cancer Trust

The Robin Cancer Trust We are the UK's germ cell cancer community! We raise life-saving awareness for testicular and ovarian cancer in young people.

Support Toby's Big Ballsy Challenge! ⬇️ 🍒 https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/bigballsychallenge The Robin Cancer Trust is the UK's only dedicated germ cell cancer awareness charity. The RCT was set-up in 2012 following the untimely death of our son & brother Robin Freeman, aged just 24. The charity aims to raise awareness of all germ cell cancers, including both testicular and ovarian ca

ncers, in adolescents and young adults, through attending events, using the power of social media and giving life-saving awareness talks. Our dedicated awareness campaigns aim to highlight the importance of early detection of this rare form of cancer, highlighting the signs and symptoms and tackling the 'embarrassment-factor' in young men and women.

The Paddy's Path Challenge is in Full Swing! 👏

Inspired by our RUN24 campaign, Fiona and her team will be clocking up 240km over the next 10 months, at 10 different locations, to show support for her nephew Paddy, as he deals with his recent testicular cancer diagnosis at age 25, and to raise vital funds for The Robin Cancer Trust.

The team are 3 months into their challenge and recently headed to York (Paddy's hometown) to clock up their kilometres. Fiona said they expected around 20 people to come out and show their support and as you can see from the photo below, this was nearer to 50 people!

And so far, they have raised over £6,400! This is just AMAZEBALLS!

To show your support and to track their progress, donations are most welcome to their fundraising page here ➡️ https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/paddys-path-24-10-pants-to-cancer?updated

Thanks so much for your support, Fiona and team! All of us here at the RCT send Paddy our best wishes and support. Good luck with clocking up the remaining distance, and we can't wait to see more photos and see how you are getting on!

As a charity, we’re on a mission to empower people to listen to their bodies, know what is normal for them, and recognise the symptoms of ovarian cancer earlier.

There is no national screening programme for ovarian cancer, so it’s important to be symptom-aware and visit a medical professional if you are concerned.

Early symptoms of ovarian cancer are often subtle and may feel like ongoing mild to moderate discomfort, rather than severe pain. These ‘milder’ symptoms include:

- Bloating

- Frequent urination

- Feeling Full

- Irregular Bleeding

- Pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen

It’s vital to visit your GP to get checked out if you’re experiencing these symptoms and they are:

- Frequent

- Persistent

- New

- Unusual for you

📌 If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and they are persistent, frequent, new or unusual - please visit your GP as soon as possible. Keep a record of what symptoms you are experiencing and take this to your appointment – this will help make a speedier diagnosis.

Remember, no one knows your body as well as you – listen to your body, it knows you best.
