The Big Ballsy Run is here! 🙌

Choose your distance: 10K, 50K or 100K. Then run it or walk it, outside, on a treadmill, in one go or spread it across multiple sessions throughout November. Do it solo, get your friends involved or challenge your colleagues.

💙 Today, we're paying tribute to Alastair Lynn on his birthday.

Alastair was a much-loved member of the cancer community. This photo was taken at The Royal Marsden, where Alastair had gone to visit a friend he'd made through the community who was receiving treatment - despite having just had treatment himself.

His family describe him as kind and calm; someone who always had time to talk to and support other people going through cancer, regardless of what he was facing himself.

Today, we're incredibly grateful to Alastair's family for choosing to continue that kindness in his memory.

Through our Pay for a Day programme, they have funded two days of our cancer awareness work at the University of Essex and University of Suffolk Freshers' Fairs - helping us have potentially life-saving cancer conversations with hundreds of young people.

We'll be sharing the impact of those days with Alastair's family, so they can see what has been made possible in his name.

Thank you to the Lynn family for supporting our work - and, most importantly, for trusting us to play a small part in continuing Alastair's legacy.

September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month. This month, like every month, we’re shining a light on everything you need to know about ovarian cancer. Early ovarian cancer symptoms are often characterised by ongoing mild to moderate discomfort - rather than extreme sensations. These ‘milder’ symptoms include:⁠
⁠
Bloating⁠
Frequent urination⁠
Feeling full ⁠
Irregular bleeding ⁠
Pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen ⁠
⁠
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and they are persistent, frequent, new or unusual - please visit your GP as soon as possible.

WHAT A DAY 👏

On Sunday, supporters of all ages took part in the seven mile walk from Clacton Pier to Walton Pier, in support of 👏

Our ever popular event is now in its sixth year, and on Sunday we saw our biggest turnout since it was launched, with families, friends, cancer survivors and even dogs joining the challenge 🐶
ya.balls prizes were awarded for the best decorated underwear, with Gavin Newman of taking home the prize with his Henry the Hoover inspired pants! 🩲

Darren Couchman, our Community Engagement Manager and a testicular cancer survivor, said:

“Pants to Cancer is a fun event, but there’s a really important message behind it. Events like this help us start conversations about testicular and ovarian cancer, reach more people with our awareness messages and raise vital funds to support our work. A huge thank you to everyone who walked, fundraised, volunteered and supported us, we couldn’t do it without you.”

What do you get if you cross 135 pairs of pants and Clacton Pier? Our PANTS TO CANCER WALK! 📣
