Root Experience We make interactive arts projects to inspire people to positively connect with the world around them. It all started on the stage for us. Want to know more?

We’re an arts charity that turns play into purpose – for communities, schools, and wider audiences. As a theatre company, we devised improvisational performances that challenged the conventional actor-spectator relationship. This got us thinking about how we could use drama to help others break down social and educational barriers in their lives. Now, we create interactive projects and events that

turn audiences into participants, inviting them to explore and connect with the world in a different way. You'll find our events, for adults and children, at art venues, festivals and in the wider community. We also devise storytelling and drama workshops for primary schools, to help boost creativity in the classroom. Much of our work involves collaboration and participation. Here, we use gameplay, movement and creative interaction – sometimes with a good dollop of silliness – as really effective tools for expression.
