🥳 BIG NEWS! 🥳

This month marked an incredibly proud moment for the Hangleton and Knoll Project as we officially opened our new partnership youth centre in Knoll Park, The Weller Youth Centre, welcoming over 90 friends and partners to celebrate.

We were honoured to have the centre officially opened by Peter Kyle MP and Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Amanda Grimshaw.

With heartfelt thanks to our funders, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s, to Brighton & Hove City Council, our fantastic builders at Cheesmur Building Contractors, our local councillors, and of course our The Hangleton and Knoll Project Youth Team and Young People who have very much been at the heart of shaping the space.

We also celebrated Meg, winner of our Trustees’ Unsung Hero Award, a shield handcrafted by longstanding Trustee Keith Mason, in recognition of her maturity, kindness and unwavering commitment to supporting others and making a positive difference within HKP.

And of course, our founder and trustee Pat Weller MBE, after whom the centre is named, and in memory of her late husband, honouring their lifelong service and unwavering commitment to the Hangleton and Knoll community.

This is just the start and we're so excited for the future. 🥰

Dear members

We are closed from 24th December and will reopen on 12th January. During this time there will be no youth workers available.

Our youth workers wish you all a lovely break but we know this time of year is not easy for everyone. If you need support there are still people who can help.

Congratulations to our teens walking group who walked to Devils D**e Hotel up the D**e Rail Trail in Hangleton. We’ve been running ‘on the right track’ walk and talk sessions this term to support health and wellbeing. The group have walked the trail in stages each week and then celebrated with a meal together. The young people want to continue walking for the rest of this term and have enjoyed the challenge! Less screen time and more fresh air and fun!

What a great way to round off youth work week!
