just so you know we are all trained and offer qualified support ...

The second you have a baby, everyone becomes a lactation consultant.
Your nan. The postman. A woman in the Aldi car park who "just wanted to say." Barry from the office who has, at no point produced milk from his body.

They’re all generally well meaning, but unless Barry is hiding some secret lactation training you’re better off finding some qualified support if you’re worried. Use the helplines, go to the groups, hire an IBCLC if you’re able to.

Perhaps all the people with opinions could chip in to cover some of the IBCLC’s fees or for the biscuit fund at group…

We are a community support group run by volunteers, join us for a chat with other parents in a calm, friendly space - maybe as you are finding your way as a parent for the first time.

We are all qualified to provide support around feeding challenges whatever the age of your baby and however they feed. You are also welcome to come along before your baby is born to find out about feeding.

Partners, older children and family support welcome.

Tea and coffee are provided, if you are able to give a donation to contribute to our room hire costs this will help keep us running.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Breast milk is the ideal first food for a baby.

It's safe, clean and contains antibodies which protect against dangerous illnesses.
☑️ Start within 1 hour after birth
☑️ Breastfeed exclusively for the first 6 months
☑️ Continue alongside healthy family foods until the baby is at least 2 years old
