Half a day left to get your consultations in!! You can submit without email too!!

The deadline for the online consultation is TOMORROW. Please please please, get your feedback in, get friends and family to object, or grab their email and submit feedback for them. We need everyone to contribute volume here so they pay attention. Areas to focus on:
Logistically and financially NOT realistic to take our kids two miles up to Mile Oak - this is impossible if you’re working and have multiple kids
Excluding the popular nursery - we have had four nurseries shut in the immediate area and most of the ones available are stretched funding (ie you would have to pay for the privilege) or the hours do not accommodate working hours
The exclusion of West Sussex - contrary to what they say this will impact school in B&H as many are oversubscribed in West Sussex, that’s why people come here
- breaking DfE policy on closing schools - in terms of the logistical, financial, and environmental impact this proposal would cause, in addition to discriminating against those of another faith or no faith at all by suggesting two faith schools. The EIA form mentioned they do not have knowledge about people’s faith, so why is this being put forward?
- discriminating against single parents by putting NA in the EIA - this matters as people have different caring responsibilities and they are undermining people’s situations
- excluding nursery children from the EIA - the date of births are wrong and only focus on primary children (not including West Sussex children which is just under 50%)

I’d just like to make a post to Thank ALL the families of St Peter’s who have stuck by us through the tough times. I know it’s scary and the fight is far from over but together we can stand strong and defeat the councils plan. We can and have so far successfully debunked EVERYTHING the council have said in order to close our school but we need your continued support aswell!!

Remember to submit your views on our proposed closure via the consultation portal by the deadline on 22nd December -

I hope you’re all able to switch off and have a fantastic Christmas. See you all in the new year ❤️

Calling South Portslade residents!!!
As you know we have a by-election coming up on Thursday 11 January 2024. If you don’t already know, then please be aware that the Labour Party wants to close our local 117 year old primary school and nursery, St Peter’s. They want to push working families to travel up to 2 miles to relocate children. That before you take into account the logistics and financial impact this would bring to those who are already feeling the pinch. They promised in May 2023 that they would “keep schools open” and “increase preschool provision” and here we are, six months in with those pledges already broken. The families and community of St Peter’s school and nursery beg you to not vote for them. Any party but Labour please!!

Thanks for your time and support.
