Refugee Week — 15 to 21 June.

This year’s theme is Courage.

For people who have come to Brighton & Hove to find safety, courage is part of everyday life.

Over the weekend and throughout this week, people all across the city have shown up for each other in many different ways. We are grateful to our community and everyone who continues to make Brighton & Hove a more welcoming place.

Swipe to find out what is happening this week and how to get involved. Together, we choose to build a city where everyone belongs. 💜

Volunteer Week: celebrating the people who make our Network thrive 🌟

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, helping create a welcoming, supportive community in Brighton & Hove.

Many start as members and grow into new roles — supporting events, leading activities and welcoming new women.

It's and we're celebrating the people who make our Network thrive. ⭐️

At Network of International Women for Brighton & Hove, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of the Volunteer Centre - Community Works’ Volunteer Stories campaign, sharing the impact of volunteering across our Network and Brighton and Hove.

Many of our volunteers begin as members and grow into new roles — supporting activities, welcoming women and sharing their skills.

💜 We're so grateful to all our volunteers. You make our work possible.

What an incredible day! 💚💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday to celebrate International Women's Day at Brighton Unitarian Church. The room was full of warmth and it was a joy to see so many of you there.

From the moment Madame Blaze (Drum and Blaze) kicked things off outside, to the uplifting performances from Valentyna Rozum, Liz Tunmer, Veronica Doubleday, Amani Abu-El-Hawa & Sam Mileberg, JoEma - Joanna Dziecielska & Ema Pavlakova and Tetiana Storozhuk, every performance was a gift. Thank you to the wonderful performers who shared their music and talent with us.

Inside, the hall was buzzing with brilliant stalls, handmade crafts, jewellery, artwork, zines and so much more. Outside, the Brighton Multicultural Women's Cycle Club took the spirit of the day all the way along the seafront with their group ride.

The theme of International Women's Day 2026 is Give to Gain, celebrating generosity and collaboration and Saturday was proof of exactly that: a room full of women sharing, connecting and celebrating each other.

A huge thank you to all the performers, stallholders, volunteers and every person who walked through the door and made the day what it was.
