What an incredible day! 💚💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday to celebrate International Women’s Day at , the event was full of warmth and creativity and it was a joy to see so many of you there.

From Madame Blaze kicking us off, to uplifting performances, brilliant stalls, handmade crafts, delicious food and a seafront bike ride, there was a vibrant energy from start to finish.

The theme of IWD 2026 is Give to Gain — and Saturday was proof of exactly that: a room full of women sharing, connecting and celebrating each other. 💚

What an incredible day! 💚💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday to celebrate International Women's Day at Brighton Unitarian Church. The room was full of warmth and it was a joy to see so many of you there.

From the moment Madame Blaze (Drum and Blaze) kicked things off outside, to the uplifting performances from Valentyna Rozum, Liz Tunmer, Veronica Doubleday, Amani Abu-El-Hawa & Sam Mileberg, JoEma - Joanna Dziecielska & Ema Pavlakova and Tetiana Storozhuk, every performance was a gift. Thank you to the wonderful performers who shared their music and talent with us.

Inside, the hall was buzzing with brilliant stalls, handmade crafts, jewellery, artwork, zines and so much more. Outside, the Brighton Multicultural Women's Cycle Club took the spirit of the day all the way along the seafront with their group ride.

The theme of International Women's Day 2026 is Give to Gain, celebrating generosity and collaboration and Saturday was proof of exactly that: a room full of women sharing, connecting and celebrating each other.

A huge thank you to all the performers, stallholders, volunteers and every person who walked through the door and made the day what it was.

Join us this International Women’s Day!

On 7th March, 11am–4pm at Brighton Unitarian Church, we’re celebrating women and the incredible work happening locally.

Enjoy live music, refreshments, activities, handmade crafts, and the chance to connect with local organisations making a difference across Brighton & Hove.

Come along, bring a friend and be part of the day.

Our team will be taking a break over the festive period. We will not be working from the end of Tuesday the 23rd of December and will be returning on Monday the 5th of January. Our first library session will be the Wednesday the 7th of January.

Reflecting back on 2025, this year we have:

- Welcomed you at 50 Jubilee Library drop-ins
- Supported roughly 329 women through our casework, Cost of Living and Increasing Economic Independence programmes
- Shared meals together at 5 food events
- Connected with nature and each other through 12 Ecotherapy Sessions
- Created 290 sustainable products and sold 175 of them at local markets and events
- Danced and sang together at 13 sessions
- Gone on 41 walks, exploring Brighton and surrounding areas
- Learnt together through 8 health and wellbeing talks

Get out to the downs with the family this summer ☀️🌳

The National Trust, The South Downs have some exciting discovery events at Devils D**e next week.

Their Changing Chalk rangers, Rebecca and Thyone, are running a Family Nature Event on Tuesday Aug 26th and guiding a Chalk Grassland walks on Thursday 28th and there’s more.
