FREE classes, coffee & crafting 🤩

Try out some of our dance and movement classes at the beginning of the new term, with sessions for children running all morning.

What: The Dance Space Taster Day
When: Sunday 6 September, 10am-5.30pm (kids' classes 10am-12pm)
Where: The Dance Space, Brighton
Price: Doesn't cost a penny

We’ve been hard at work sprucing up our studios ready for the new season to begin.

We've even upgraded one of the Harlequin sprung dance floors with a brand spanking new one. 🤸‍♂️

Thanks so much to Linden Dance Company for welcoming two work experience students to be part of your process whilst in residence at The Dance Space.

Working with the company on the development of new piece Beautiful Future, both Amelie and Asha had a brilliant week and made this short reel about their time here. 📹

We are very excited to be presenting The Garden by choreographer, dance artist and giant of hip hop theatre Lindon Barr () at The Dance Space on Sunday 13 September, as part of a national tour.⁠

Lindon will take over The Dance Space for one day only in this multi-room performance you are invited to move through.⁠
⁠
Rooted in hip hop and street dance with contemporary styles, The Garden is a living, shifting dialogue of movement, loosely based on the story of Adam and Eve.⁠

Rough Cuts: La Plaza - a work in progress 🛠️

Join us on Friday 31 July, 4.30pm for a short 30-min work-in-progress sharing of La Plaza by Elisa Sbaragli - part of our Rough Cuts programme.

La Plaza is a choreographic project that explores how bodies build, share, and transform common space. The piece investigates how people inhabit and shape shared environments through everyday and collective practices.

Inspired by Wim Wenders’ Wings of Desire and Fernando Pessoa’s heteronyms, La Plaza explores the relationship between individual and collective through a solo performer.
