Immerse yourself in Dance on Screen this Autumn 🎞️🍂

Brighton Screendance Festival 2026 returns as part of Cinecity on 14 November + a week-long Digital Stage.

All events are pay-what-you-can or free, so try something new, kick back and enjoy the diverse and eclectic world of international screendance on our big screen. This year's programme includes:

- Homegrown: An eclectic selection of screendance films created by South East based artists

- Glitch, Grain, Ground: Experimental dance films that work with grainy, faulty and glitchy images to explore experiences of migration, displacement and loss.

- Digital Screen: Watch for free, from the comfort of your sofa, our online programme of international work hosted on our website 14-21 November.

- Screendance Invites: Guest curators from the world of screendance select arresting, beautiful and thoughtful films.

- Dance & Moving Image Course: Sign up for this online, hands on, practical course led by multidisciplinary artist Becky Edmunds, starting on 4 November.

Dreamy Place festival at The Dance Space ☁️

This year's excellent programme has dropped💥

As part of this jam-packed Brighton weekend of art, creative technology and moving image, we've got four events here at The Dance Space.

2) Digital Dance Practice: Artist Talk | Thu 22 Oct, 4.30pm
Sydney-based dance artists Ella Watson-Heath () and Ashleigh Veitch share their ongoing digital practice and research.

3) MargaM by | Sun 25 Oct, 10.30am - 4.30pm (30 min slots)
Travel inside a virtual South Indian temple on a journey through Bharatanatyam - one of the world's oldest classical dance forms.

4) PULSE by | Sun 25 Oct, 12.30pm - 4.30pm (30 min slots)

Movement and play for under fives 🤩

Every Wednesday morning, Amy from Dot Dot Dance welcomes little ones into our Brighton studio for dance, music and, most importantly, fun.

Aimed at children aged 2-5 (siblings welcome), this is a child-led movement class using props, games and free play to squeeze as much joy as possible into 45 minutes.

New class starts Friday 11 September, 6pm 🏳️‍🌈

Explore contemporary dance in a safe, supportive and trans/queer affirming environment.

Maybe you’ve always wanted to dance or just want to feel good and at home in your body, this beginners’ class led by Arco (.ezra) is perfect for you. Using the basics of release, a movement practice that focuses on letting go of unnecessary muscle tension, you’ll use momentum and gravity to support your body.

Find your (Latin) Flow 💃

Solo Latin Flow classes starting Tuesdays, 6pm from 8 September: Develop your footwork, body awareness and musicality in a supportive environment with Marta Moreta.

This is a class for you whether you’re completely new to Latin dance, or if you already enjoy Salsa and Bachata partner work but want to learn new skills to take into social dancing.
