Join us for a practical 2-day course focussed on building with h**p lime (h**pcrete).

📅 6–7 June 2026 – 9.00am–5.30pm
📍 Stanmer Park, Brighton

Discover the potential of this natural, breathable material to create low-impact, energy-efficient buildings. Learn how h**pcrete can be used in both new builds and the repair and upgrading of traditional structures, combining sustainability with practical construction skills.

With a focus on understanding materials and methods, gain hands-on experience mixing, placing, and finishing h**pcrete.

Explore key techniques including wall building, insulation in historic buildings, and applying finishes – all while learning the essential dos and don’ts for successful results.

With practical sessions taking place at Earthship Brighton in Stanmer Park, apply your learning in a real-world setting. A busy day at Racehill Community Orchard 🌳

Last month, the volunteer team at Racehill Orchard prepped some old tree posts - removing them from older trees that no longer needed them, cutting off the shabby ends, and re-pointing them. These posts will be set into the ground to create a brand new set of composting bays ♻️

The team also prepared the ground where the bays will go, making sure everything is ready for the next step. It’s amazing to see how much can be achieved with a little teamwork. Thanks so much to the hardworking volunteers (as always!)
