Thank Yous & Photos

I've just resurfaced after taking a few days to recover and also reflect after Sunday's 25th anniversary celebration. Usually, there are several days of weeping into my cornflakes after a big weekend, but this week I've just had one huge grin from ear to ear. It was so lovely to see so many friends and family all under one roof. The atmosphere was incredible – I wish I could have bottled it. One of the most important goals for me was to reach the bar that had been set by so many previous K&Q bank holiday all-dayers. Many people have such fond memories from Stick It On of old that I wanted to meet theirs and my own expectations and walk away with no hint of disappointment. I really hope you feel I did it justice (the photos kind of hint that I did). I had an amazing day and I hope you did too.

The photos should be ready to download this weekend. There are over 600 of them. The link will enable you to save the whole set or to go through and individually download them. As soon as they are ready, I will let you know.

In the meantime, I do need to say a massive thank you to a number of people who played their part in making the day a success.

Karim – fellow founder of Stick It On and always the numero uno person to have on the door.

Helpers on the day:
Cat Splat, Maisie Drysdale, Emma Dee, Charlotte Upjohn, Neil Mitchell, Bonnie Parker, Noah, George – for helping to cover the little things that cropped up that would have sent my stress levels skyward. Amelie and Janam for being on the door for a large part of the day. Plus, Ross Linton for sticking around at the end to help with the pack-down.

Jerk Lab – catering. Their Jamaican cuisine was off the scale. A family-run business, run by Shaq. Please follow and support them via https://www.instagram.com/thejerklab/ They deserve every success with food that tastes that good.

The DJs, artists and performers (in order of appearance)
Gary Christer aka Del Gazebo – always a safe pair of hands to deliver the right tune at the right time / Count Skylarkin for his wonderful tribute to DJ Derek / Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer – multi-talented, funny and utterly brilliant / Jazzie B OBE – still can't quite believe he played for us. He read the room perfectly and delivered a set that rocked the party / The Room of Filth DJ crew – Dave Henley, Alan Blake and the BemBom Brothers aka Shane Henley and Aandy Natarajan – pure dirt / The Wig On Casino run by Jo from The Wonky Trolley and her team. A big thank you to them and the gamblers who raised £185 for the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life charity / And of course, bringing up the rear and saving the best till last, our besties Dan Tester & Si Collins from Funktunes who played the finale set and brought the night to a fitting close.

Photography: Thanks, Gill for the intro – Phil worked his socks off all day and, as you will see, takes amazing pictures. He really captured the spirit of the day. Please follow and support him on Facebook via Philstaceyphotography & on Insta via https://www.instagram.com/prs_eventphotography/

Tech and production: JJ Barber from Penguin Media Solutions, who was worth his weight in gold on the day, managing the sound (and light), de-rigging, re-rigging and being on hand to make sure everything sounded and looked great / Goodwillie from https://www.brightonsoundsystem.co.uk and Andy Mac who supplied our kick-ass Traction Sound PA / Scarratt, who provided the technical support on all things I can't get my tiny brain to understand.

Also, many thanks: George Rutter for sending over the photos for our slideshow / Mark Gibson from HOTEL PELIROCCO for his patience and being a top cat.

King and Queen: A special thanks goes to Mark & Jade and their team for all their assistance and help in the lead-up and on the day. Also, to Mark for booking Jerk Lab and paying for the food so it was free for all our early arrivals / Al & Justin and the security team, who were super cool on the day.

To my beautiful, patient and supportive wife Caro TeaTree, who puts up with a lot, especially my unsociable hours and recently the late nights in front of the computer organising this event – she really is amazing, I love her very much and I'm a very lucky chap indeed.

Lastly, thank you to all those who came down on Sunday and joined in the celebrations. You brought the fun and the loving to the party. You are the best – please don't go changin'. ❤️❤️❤️

Big Love

Rob
