OpenEdge Transforming Conflict

OpenEdge Transforming Conflict A UK charity working with power, identity & difference, engaging with conflict as a driver for change OpenEdge came together in 2015.

Its staff have many years experience in international conflict transformation work. Increasingly bound by the restrictions of traditional development thinking, they wanted to create their own vehicle to fund and run conflict transformation projects. OpenEdge's work is underpinned by concepts such as understanding and empathy; concepts that don't always fit a traditional log-frame. As of September

2015, OpenEdge is applying to be a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Here are our Objects:

For the public benefit, OpenEdge - Transforming Conflict will work to advance the prevention, reduction and transformation of violence and violent conflict in any part of the world with:

- Anyone affected by direct and/or structural violence (in the community or workplace)

- Individuals and groups who work with those affected by violence and/or violent conflict (e.g. staff of NGO’s, government agencies or organisations)

- Those whose activities impact and/or influence violence and violent conflict (e.g. academics, policy makers, policy implementers, armed groups)

Through a combination of scholarship, research, practical expertise, fund-raising, project funding and management, OpenEdge Transforming Conflict will guide, train, coach, facilitate, and support participants, colleagues and partners in developing their understanding, choices and actions regarding violence and violent conflict both in the UK and internationally.

Dear Friends...

I am offering Beyond A Story of Separation - A Nonviolent Communication Foundation at Hawkwood College in Stroud, Glos. Tuesday 30th September 5pm - Thursday 2nd October 5pm. Please forwards to anyone you think might be interested.

Over two days and nights together, we will immerse in this work and the consciousness underpinning it. You will have an opportunity to connect deeply, find and transform places you might be stuck or losing power, and shift patterns that do not support healthy, compassionate relating with yourself and others.

If you have done an NVC course online or non-residential this will likely offer a different experience where you can go deeper and explore together in a supported way.

During this course, we will explore:
*Shifting out of right/wrong deficit thinking and the blame game, into compassion for yourself and others
*Learning and practice tools to express yourself with authenticity whilst holding compassionate boundaries
*Building capacity to meet what emerges and receive others fully, and with resonance and empathy, whilst staying in your power, even when you disagree
*Shifting life-limiting beliefs and programs you are running
*Transforming rather than transferring the patterning you have inherited
*Using power collaboratively “with” others
*Bringing a systemic lens to individual experience
*Experiencing difference as enriching rather than threatening
*Engaging with conflict to find what really matters
*Leading for the world your heart is longing for
