Pride In Place Board

Movement has been had with this and chairs have been shortlisted.

It would be good to know more about the next stages to this process? Will the residents ever know the shortlisted candidates? Will the get to present to the residents their skills and vision for the role, maybe a residents meeting to each pitch and that forms part of the process.

This is a great time to open discussion and involve the people the pride in place award, which is much smaller than history award, so it's vital the community can have that involvement too.

Middle Park Playground Area Needs Urgent TLC BHCC
The wooden frames are a particular worry and a little money spent now treating the wood will extend the life leave it and the life expectancy reduces. The Roundabout bearings needs maintenance, and the Fencing looks like it's having some work done, but a date for competition would be good, as or yet it's not a secure space to play. Side out of action again...

Just design ideas these are not actual plans. But was thinking about rather than them all scattered they not one big main lobby and community floors and three towers attached. Green living design. All lifts including special service lifts exit at the central lobby. Could have under ground parking build to minimise on street traffic. Proper community facilities, on site health, shops, places to meet, crèche, cafe, work spaces.

£20m has been allocated for the community over 10 years. Reports that residents not on the board overseeing the project.

We have been here before with the new deals for community lost £48m!

This is not an option.

With regeneration coming, and an active campaign to destroy your community spaces and resources, we need to ensure this money and any regeneration is what locals what and need.

This is a Community Coaltion Group. Whitehawk First!!

We know £16m goes from residents to BHCC annually in rents and council tax.

That's £116m over 10 years, excluding inflation.

So £20m back is not enough, it does not scratch the surface.

This is a coalition which says no more taking from this community. It's time to pay back what you have taken and properly invest in the citizens living in the area.

This means, we want to see funding directed to get the valley reopen and fit for purpose, previous promises need to come to projects. Locals wants and needs will be heard and action will be taken.
