Sustainable Fashion Week is here!

The fashion industry is responsible for 92 million tonnes of waste annually – a figure that is projected to rise to 134 million tonnes by 2030 (UNEP, 2025).

Shopping second-hand, selling and mending clothes all help to keep textile waste out of landfill!

📣We've extended the deadline to the 5 October.📣

Have you got a couple of hours to spare each month to provide us with additional expertise to help us support even more families in Brighton and Hove?

Every year in our city families are spending up to £170 getting their children kitted out for the new school year, that's nearly £5m a year on school uniform per year in Brighton and Hove. And that is just the basics! At the same time nearly a tonne of uniform is wasted each year. Our service is tackling both of these challenges.

We need to keep shouting about how families can access second -hand school uniform easily. Our online marketplace , now available via an app and our free uniform rails, are really helping people across our city, to keep the costs of school uniform down.

📣Important info for families in Brighton and Hove!📣

As of September 2026, schools in Brighton and Hove will have to adhere to new national uniform policy.

This legislation asks schools to limit the number of branded uniform items in their school uniform policy.

💚Primary schools can have 3 branded uniform items
💚Secondary schools can have 3 branded uniform items (or 4 if the fourth is a tie).

We welcome these changes! Having more unbranded uniform in the city means we can keep more uniform in circulation and keep costs down for families.

This means less textile waste in landfill and more money in your pockets!♻💸
