At the end of each digging season we select a Digger Of The Year (who wins the much-coveted Golden Trowel trophy!)

This year the worthy recipient was Xavier, who’s been a regular digger for some time and has always been willing to learn and apply new skills - such as lifting a number of fragile bones and other items from the pit. It was also good to have mum Heloise and former Field Director (and Xavier’s Granddad!) Mark in attendance to witness the presentation.
Also present were three previous recipients of the Digger of the Year Award (DOT-YA): David, Barbara and Neil.

Congratulations Xavier and a huge thank you to all of our diggers this season!
