Another beautiful day at the garden for Beltane last Saturday. The sun was shining and folks were busy in the garden, putting up bean tipis, planting courgettes, harvesting the end of last seasons beetroot greens, planting salads, spinach, flowers while having deep and meaningful conversations - one of my favourite things to hear as I walk around the garden!
🎥We started our filming project as part of the funding.
Adam & Neill, two of our trustees, will be creating a series of films over the summer that will be used on our website and socials, a huge thank you to them for all the creative work & energy they are doing to achieve this 💚
🥗A delicious Beltane feast made by all the members, was a welcome delight after working in the garden. So many tasty and varied foods, showing how exciting food is! Thank you all for making the time to cook and share.
🌳In the afternoon we finished the day with a Beltane gathering where folks shared their songs, poems, music, stories & books while making headdresses and wands from the bounty of willow in the garden. It was beautiful listening and witnessing the stepping into vulnerability to share these precious gifts with the group, thank you. Such a poignant time of year, felt very blessed to be gathered together and honouring this time & giving deep heart felt thanks to the land, the plants & the people.
Beltane is the sacred threshold between spring and summer, a fire festival that honours the awakening of life in its fullest expression. It is a time when the Earth feels alive with fertility, passion, growth and possibility, inviting us to step fully into our own vitality and creative spirit. The fires of Beltane symbolise transformation, purification and illumination, reminding us to nurture what we wish to grow within ourselves and our communities. Beneath the blossoms, birdsong and lengthening days lies a deeper spiritual truth, that we too are part of nature’s great cycle of renewal, connection and becoming.
Beltane blessings to you all!
