We’re delighted that the first Bognor Grub Club, delivered by Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital’s Community Hub in partnership with UK Harvest, was such a success.

The delivery of 150kg of surplus food supported 26 households, helping to feed 81 local people while reducing food waste.

The event also raised £102, with donations shared between Sussex Community NHS Charity and UK Harvest. These funds will help us continue supporting initiatives delivered at the Community Hub.

A huge well done to the hospital team, volunteers and everyone involved in making the launch possible. One visitor described the Grub Club as “a real lifeline” – a reminder of the difference community support can make.

🚴‍♂️ Behind the challenge

On 23 June, the Zurich Digital Trading team will take on an incredible 200km cycling challenge to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Sussex Community NHS Charity’s Westhampnett Child Development Centre.

Ahead of the ride, we visited the centre to learn more about the vital work happening there and how fundraising can help create more welcoming, supportive spaces for children and families across Sussex.

From child-friendly clinical rooms to sensory equipment and specialist resources, donations can help enhance the experience of children accessing these important services.

We’re wishing Alex and the team the very best of luck as they prepare to take on this amazing challenge! 🚴‍♀️👏

A new virtual multidisciplinary clinic model helps clinicians make faster, more confident treatment decisions for children and young people requiring orthodontic input within the Special Care Dental Service. The initiative, supported by £5,059 in charitable funding from Sussex Community NHS Charity, has improved access to specialist advice, reduced unnecessary patient travel, and streamlined referral pathways.

🌼 Small grant, big impact at Arundel Hospital 🌼

At Sussex Community NHS Charity, we see how even small acts of support can create meaningful change. A grant of just £359.43 helped fund essential tools for a dedicated volunteer gardener at Arundel District and Community Hospital — transforming outdoor spaces for patients, visitors and staff.

With refreshed planting, tidier pathways and new seasonal bulbs, the gardens are now calmer, more welcoming spaces that support wellbeing and recovery. The project has also empowered the volunteer to continue their valuable work with confidence and pride.

This is a wonderful example of how your support helps make a real difference across our community.
