Last week we uncovered this planter. Today, it’s already doing exactly what we hoped.

This is Small Scabious—one of our beautiful Sussex chalk grassland wildflowers. It flowers right through late summer, providing precious nectar when many other plants have finished.

And look who’s arrived… a bee! It could be a Common Carder Bee—or perhaps another of our wonderful Sussex pollinators.

🌼 The netting’s off!

After weeks of protecting these young wildflowers, it’s time for them to shine. Watching the planter at Hove Town Hall reach this stage is a real milestone.

This is what Sussex Nature Recovery looks like—creating urban spaces for native wildflowers that support bees, butterflies and other wildlife, right in the heart of our community.

Small actions. Big impact. Here’s to a summer full of colour, pollinators and nature making a comeback. 🌿🐝🦋

How lovely is this lamp post planting in Brighton!
All plants were from the WildFlower Conservation Society (apart from the Hollyhock). Would be great to see more of this across the city!
All our plants are £2 a pot and we’re open for sales every Tuesday from 10-12 or the last Sunday of the month from 1 - 3.30!
