It’s Non‑Binary Awareness Week! A time to honour and uplift non‑binary people — those whose gender doesn’t fit neatly into “male” or “female.” 💜
💛 Non-binary is a term someone may use to describe their gender when it doesn’t align with just “male” or “female.” Non‑binary people may identify with both, neither, fluidly shift, or have a uniquely different gender.
🗣️ Use the name and pronouns they share: It shows respect. If you're unsure, just ask politely — and if you slip up, apologise, correct yourself, and move on
🚫 Avoid assumptions: Don’t presume pronouns or appearance—everyone's expression is different. Most non-binary folk use they/them, but many use she/her, he/him, neopronouns, or no pronouns.
🏢 Advocate inclusively: Push for gender‑neutral bathrooms, non‑binary friendly policies, and inclusive documents in schools, workplaces, and government.
✅ Listen and learn: Don’t worry about knowing everything—being supportive means being open, accepting, and trying to do better every time.
Together, we can create a world where non‑binary people are seen, accepted, and respected. 💛🤍💜🖤
