We have some great new funded roles to advertise at Tower House Community Centre for those 50+ and can offer successful applicants a friendly, warm and welcoming place to work alongside our dedicated and growing team! These pieces of work are funded to with the aim of 'providing older people dignity in later life'.
These are self-employed/freelance facilitator roles:
Bereavement Group Facilitator. Overview: to write and deliver 12 fortnightly group sessions to support older people to come to terms with their loss, understand their emotions and start to think about next steps. There are 2 topic areas to write and each will be repeated 6 times. The role will involve training a small group of volunteers that will run a peer support group alongside the facilitated sessions. The role will also require the facilitator to write 2 outcomes reports at the end of Q1 and Q2. The timetabled work will finish in December.
Dementia Group Facilitator. Overview: to write and deliver 22 weekly sessions on 8 different topics some to support the person newly diagnosed with Dementia and some aimed at their family/friend carers. Some key topics will be delivered more than once during the timescale. The role will involve training a small group of volunteers that will run a peer support group alongside the facilitated sessions. The role will also require the facilitator to write 2 outcomes reports at the end of Q1 and Q2. The timetabled work will finish in December.
Applicants with relevant backgrounds in either of the key topic areas (Bereavement support and Dementia support) alongside group facilitation skills are invited to apply - the full Person Specification is available in our job packs. One candidate with both skill sets can apply for both roles. These sessions can be delivered flexibly around other commitments.
