Rainbow Baby Day is a special day to remember and celebrate babies born following the loss of a precious baby or babies.

Today recognises the love for all of our children

Today recognises the hope it took to get them here

Today recognises the courage that we faced each day

& Today recognises that love can exist alongside grief.

A rainbow baby doesn’t “replace” the baby who died & both babies hold their own special place in a family’s heart.

Today is a day to honour the babies who came before, celebrate the babies who are here, and acknowledge the complex emotions that families may carry with them everyday.

🌈Rainbow Baby Week 2026 🌈

Willow’s Rainbow Box

Rainbow Baby Week takes place from 16–22 August 2026, shining a light on the unique and often incredibly emotional journey of pregnancy and parenthood after baby loss.

“In all honesty finding out that I pregnant again after losing my first baby at 30 weeks was terrifying at first until the weeks slowly crept past and I understood that every pregnancy is different & it was ok to feel hope for this pregnancy too” (parent L)

A rainbow baby is a term often used to describe the experience with a baby or babies born following a previous pregnancy or baby loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy or neonatal loss.

The rainbow is seen as a symbol of hope after a tricky experience.

It is so important to remember that a rainbow baby does not replace the baby or babies who sadly died.

Nor does their arrival erase the grief.

For many parents, pregnancy after loss can bring overwhelming love and excitement alongside anxiety, fear, guilt and uncertainty.

❤️🌈Rainbow Baby Week is about acknowledging all of those emotions, remembering the babies who are forever loved and missed, celebrating the babies who come after loss, and — most importantly — reminding families that they are not alone. 🌈💛

Thanks to charities like Willow’s Rainbow Box for raising awareness and creating a narrative that we can engage with to hold space for every baby.

💭We’d absolutely LOVE to hear what you thought!

🥰As a small, Sussex-based charity supporting bereaved families here in Worthing, raising awareness and reaching more families who may need our support is so important to us.

🫶Your feedback really does help us grow and make future events even better.

A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came along, visited the stalls, had fun in the circus tent, supported our wonderful local businesses, got creative with some woodwork - and simply helped make the day such a lovely one. 🥰

And judging by the smile on little Harrison’s face when he was presented with this enormous candy floss… I think we can safely say he had a pretty brilliant time! 🍭😂

Whether you came to play, volunteer, support, browse, donate, lend a hand or just soak up the atmosphere - we appreciate you more than you know. ❤️
