Our Story
BDance aims to bring like-minded students together to dance and compete in multiple different dance styles such as; Bollywood, Bhangra, Bharatanatyam, Kuthu and Hip Hop.
Going into its 3rd year, BDance is growing each year with a greater number of people joining and an increase in the number of competitions we compete in.
In its first year, BDance entered the “Battle of Bollywood” competition which saw a huge buzz within students leading up to the competition. The competition brought everyone closer together due to the frequent practises and allowed BDance to expand, practise and compete in future competitions.
Last year, BDance stepped up a notch and performed at the Sussex Diwali Show in October 2018 which consisted of Bollywood and Bharatanatyam dance routines. Furthermore, we competed in “Just Bollywood 2018” against other universities around the UK. BDance was also recognised by a local company and were asked to perform at a BAPIO (British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin) conference held at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton. In addition, in collaboration with another society, we performed at the “Flag Fest” in late March. The jam-packed year created many memories that the team cherishes dearly. With many team members graduating in 2019, more social activities were held e.g. a Christmas dinner (including secret Santa) and an end of year BDance graduation party.
