These last couple of weeks, people have done wonderful things to raise money for Amaze.

From a book themed quiz night to paint and sips to a gig - the key here is, they've had fun fundraising!

Don't forget our shop is open in Churchill Square 10am-5pm Thurs-Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays, where you can purchase merchandise for The Story Trail such as book marks, tea towels and more... all proceeds go towards Amaze and our vital work with families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

FREE family fun day for Brighton & Hove families, 27 October 2026

Thanks to funding from Brighton & Hove Short Breaks we are running a day of fun activities for all ages. Expect circus skills, dance, arts & crafts, a visit from Woody from Toy Story and fun for the younger children with Fidget & Spin plus more to be announced.

Come and join in the fun from 11am to 3pm on Tuesday 27 October at Hangleton Community Centre.

We are pleased to be continuing our FREE drop-in sessions in St Leonards-on-Sea, on the second Friday of the month.

Do you need advice around disability benefits or other SEND issues? Would you like to talk to someone face to face? Come and see Lizzie or another member of the Amaze team for on the spot benefits advice and signposting for other SEND issues.

To maintain your privacy, the sessions are run on a surgery basis. So you may have to wait a little while to speak to us. There is a waiting room and tea and coffee.

Ways you can get involved with The Story Trail!

-Enter their weekly photo competition: send in your best BookBench snaps to [email protected] for a chance to be featured.

-Enter the raffle to win Benchy. £5 a ticket with a chance to own your very own small BookBench. Visit: https://amazesussex.org.uk/thestorytrail/raffle/

-Fundraise: get people to sponsor you as you go on a BookBench hunt. Maybe set a timer and see how many you can visit in an hour? Or compete with friends to unlock as many BookBenches as you can over once weekend?

-Come to an event - tickets are available for the Once Upon a Trail evening in half term. Tour the BookBenches and be entertained by various surprise activities as you go. Visit the Events section of our website for tickets.

-Like, share and spread the word about the trail!

Remember The Story Trail is raising awareness of and funds for Amaze. The more people who know about it and donate, the more money will be made to fund Amaze's vital work.

Huge thanks to the students from Brighton College for volunteering as part of their make a difference day last week.

It was a big help to have a team out and about cleaning our BookBenches to make sure everyone could come and at The Story Trail!

Last week at Amazing Futures, the Eastbourne youth group talked about the future of Eastbourne's parks and open spaces. They were joined by Marc from Allen Scott Landscape Architects.🌳

The group got to share what they think about our local parks - what they like, and what could be better. They talked about what would make them more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. 💭

They talked about things like:

• having more trees and shade
• accessibility
• what they'd like to see in the parks
• getting to the parks
• how safe and welcoming they feel

It was really good to have someone come along and really listen to what the youth group had to say. Everyone loved getting stuck in and sharing their ideas!

The group's views will help feed into a consultation called “Help shape the future of Eastbourne’s parks and open spaces” from the Eastbourne Neighbourhood Board. The consultation is looking at what could be taken forward in our local parks. 🌿

Thanks for coming along, Marc, and listening to our young people! 💚
