đź’” Farewell to Portslade Village Centre

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of the much-loved Portslade Village Centre.

As part of the redevelopment plans, the centre will close its doors from February to allow work on a new chapter for the site. This building has been more than bricks and mortar—it’s been a place of joy, laughter, and belonging. A space where many of us grew up, joined youth groups, performed on stage, or simply found community.

A new centre is planned as part of the redevelopment, with a fresh look and a different feel. Change is coming, but the spirit of togetherness will live on.

We at the Nautical Training Corps have considered it an honour to be custodians of the building for the past two years. Thank you to everyone who played a part in our mission to return the centre to you—the community.

A huge thank you to our centre manager, Kayla Clayton. Kayla has been everything a community centre needs and so much more—a tireless volunteer who has gone above and beyond to create unforgettable experiences and events for all.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s farewell—for now.
