🛡️️ THE STROLLING SAXON GODWINSON CHALLENGE! 🛡️

We are so grateful to announce this absolutely epic effort from our supporter Gav Collins aka The Strolling Saxon who is currently undertaking an extraordinary charity endurance challenge on behalf of 3 worthy charities of which we are one of the lucky recipients of funds being raised!

The Strolling Saxon has been walking a massive 210 miles across Sussex—from Chichester to Rye—between 10th and 19th October and is enduring all the weathers that this October is currently throwing at him much like a lot of our rough sleeping friends who face this challenge all year round.

What makes this journey even more remarkable is his inspiring resilience: he is recovering from a severe car crash in 2023 that left him with an unstable spine and nerve damage down his left side. He is undertaking this epic march as part of his recovery to walk "for those less fortunate than himself".

GAV you are an absolute legend ❤️🙏

As an active member of both the Seaford and East Grinstead Bonfire Societies, he will also be joining the Seaford Bonfire Night procession on Saturday, 17th October as he walks along the seafront! (Note: rest assured, he carries NO real weapons!)

Another busy service as the sun set earlier this evening at the Peace Statue.

WE NEED your help to start gathering warmer clothing items so that we can see people through the colder months.

A stunning sunset tonight down on the seafront tonight as our troops gathered together to serve those in need.
Hot by day and much cooler by night now and soon we will be dusting off the lights and pulling out all the winter gear again,

Can you help us with the ever growing demand to gather as much thicker, warmer and waterproof clothing to get people through this time as we head into the coldest months of the year.

We URGENTLY need mens clothing ONLY:

Thick, warm waterproof jackets - Sizes S-XL. (No woolen or cotton jackets please).
Waterproof walking/hiking boots and trainers - Size 7-13 (and all the half sizes too)
Jeans -size 28-34” waist
Joggers - all sizes S-2XL.
Thermal tops and bottoms in all sizes.
Hoodies, fleeces and long sleeved t-shirts in all sizes (particularly S and M).
GIlets - all sizes.
Travel size toiletries - shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, tissue packs and wet wipes.
Hats, scarves and gloves.
Large and medium Rucksacks
Dog food. Dry and wet 🐶🐾🐕🐾
Tinned soups, beans, veg, pot noodles, pot porridge.

Outreach was off the scale busy tonight with more people than we have seen in a long, long time.

We are heading into autumn and the nights are already starting to cool down so we need to start gathering the warmer clothes.

Another busy service on a gloomy evening helping as many people as we can…. Times are really tough for so many people still.

Please, if you can, help us to stock up for the upcoming winter months and keep our homeless as warm and dry as we can we would be so grateful. 🙏🙏

We URGENTLY need mens clean and like new clothing ONLY and are almost completely out of the following items:

Desperately in need of Waterproof warm coats - with and without hoods - (all sizes from S-XL needed) - please NO woollen jackets and nothing 2XL and upwards 🙏

Walking boots and trainers - Size 7-13 (half sizes too).
S, M, L, XL Joggers, hoodies and T-shirts.
Jeans - Size 28 - 34” waist.
Fleeces and filets - all sizes.
Socks and boxer shorts (all sizes).
Hats, Scarves and gloves.
Thermal tops and bottoms - all sizes.
Rucksacks and holdalls - Large and Small.
Nylon sleeping bags (not cotton material).

Travel size toiletries:
Toothpaste and roll on deodorants.
Pocket pack tissues and wet wipes.
Tinned soups, beans, veg, pot noodles, pot porridge.
Dog food tins/pouches, biscuits and treats.
Paperback books - think fiction novels (no Jilly Cooper romance novels please 😉)
Hot hands, thermos flasks and travel mugs.

We really are desperate for some more medium size TVs, and microwaves ONLY as we have accommodated clients who are waiting for your help please 🙏.
(TVS must have working leads with them please).

NO other housewares currently needed and please no more pillows and duvets as we buy these from new due to health and safety requirements.
