About Us

The ACORNS is a team of experienced Registered Children’s Nurses based at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital who can provide a short period of assessment and support within your own home whilst your child is acutely unwell. This is following medical assessment by the Emergency Department team and is instead of being admitted to the short stay unit. Whilst we are not an emergency service, we are here to offer telephone assessments and home visits, support and advice during what is a worrying time for your family
