The Hop 50+ Community recently joined Richard Freeman on the Always Possible Sussex And The City Podcast for a conversation about devolution, community spaces, transport, housing, mental wellbeing and what change needs to feel like in people’s everyday lives.

The Hop 50+ Community is a unique and vibrant space offering social and physical activities based alongside a cafe. Part of our citywide Ageing Well programme it is the flagship for services for older people. A place where people feel they belong, are valued, and benefit from mutual support.

πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ This weekend, we're sending our support and solidarity to everyone taking part in Trans Pride Brighton.

At Impact Initiatives, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, valued and able to be themselves. We're proud to stand with trans, non-binary and gender-diverse communities, not just during Trans Pride, but every day.

To everyone marching, celebrating, organising and showing up for one another this weekend – we see you, we support you, and we're wishing you a joyful and empowering Trans Pride. πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ’™

Our Health & Wellbeing Youth Support Worker, Emma, supported a young person who had been referred to Impact Initiatives by their school nurse.

After discovering the young person's interest in policing, Emma organised a visit to the Old Police Cells Museum, creating a meaningful opportunity to build trust, confidence and engagement through something they genuinely enjoy.

By tailoring our support to each young person's interests, we help them feel heard, valued and empowered. πŸ’™

A listening ear can make a real difference. πŸ’›

We're pleased to welcome volunteers from Brighton & Hove Samaritans to Stopover 1, our women-only supported accommodation service in Brighton.

Many of the women we support have experienced trauma, abuse or homelessness. Having access to a safe, confidential space where they can talk openly and know they'll be listened to without judgement is invaluable.

We're incredibly grateful to the Brighton & Hove Samaritans volunteers for giving their time and compassion to support our residents. πŸ™

Partnerships like this strengthen the support we can offer and remind our residents that they don't have to face difficult times alone.
