Brighton’s World Naked Bike Ride isn’t just about bikes – it’s a bold celebration of body positivity too. 🚲✨

Every year ( usially in June but this year for a change is September) , hundreds of riders of all shapes, sizes, ages and confidence levels take to the streets “as bare as you dare” to show that:

☆ All bodies are welcome – from fully n**e to fully clothed
It’s a non‑sexual, inclusive space where no one is pressured to strip

☆ We’re challenging body shame, consumer fashion norms and the idea that only certain bodies belong in public

☆ The ride is about bikes, bodies and low‑impact living: highlighting how vulnerable we all are on car‑dominated roads, while celebrating the beauty and diversity of real human bodies in motion. 💛

If you’ve ever felt your body didn’t “fit” cycling or public events, BNBR is a reminder:
You belong here. Your body is enough. And you’re not alone. And together we can inspire people to be more body positive and live and travel more sustainably. And show the joy and freedom that cycling brings to our communities.

🚴‍♀️🌞 Brighton World Naked Bike Ride – Seat Cover Reminder! 🌞🚴‍♂️

If you’re planning to ride one of the city hire bikes on the day, please remember: seat covers MUST be used. This keeps the bikes clean and comfortable for everyone, before and after the ride.

Good news: we’ll have official WNBR-branded seat covers available to buy at the welcome desk on the day! 🎉 Grab one as a brilliant souvenir from the ride and show off your WNBR spirit all year round.

See you at Preston Park! 💛

ALL TYPES OF BIKES WELCOME.

We would like our ride to be as inclusive as possible. We had tandems and unicycles in the past. We had electric wheelchair users joining us as well . We would be thrilled to have some tricycles and adapted cycles etc on the ride this year. Families on cargo bikes are welcome too.

We know that the format of event , the route, the distance , the music and the sheer number of other participants might still be a barrier for many to be able to join us , but if there is anything we could do to help you join our event feel free to message us and we can chat.

We are aware that the ride is just 3 days away so it might be not enough time for some to get prepared and make plans to join us . But if you would like to join us in the future please get in touch and we can learn how to improve our accessibility for the next year.

The ride is THIS SATURDAY. Who is excited?

A few quick safety reminders folks

* make sure your bike is roadworthy
* bring sunscreen & some water with you
* have your clothes with you in case you break down & need to abort your ride
* listen to announcements & instructions from stewards
* don’t speed nor overtake - it’s not a race
* bring your towel if you are up for a skinny dip
*bring your lock but please don’t park your bike by the Volks Railway fence as it will cause obstruction & delays to the trains
*let us know if there are any photographers/spectators that are disrespectful and intrusive

We could go on and on with this list. Everything is on our wiki as well in the previous posts on FB and on Eventbrite (link in bio) so please do have a read today and make sure you are up to date with all the announcements.

All these safety points might seems boring or obvious to you but sadly every year there are a few participants that seem to be a bit clueless and their lack of knowledge/common sense potentially can pose risk to others and spoil the ride.

Let’s be mindful and respectful of one another and let the solidarity and empathy and mutual aid be the guiding force for us al
