CORBIS Sussex Global Health, is a Brighton based academic group comprising members of faculty and students of the University of Sussex, Brighton and Sussex Medical School and the Institute of Development Studies. CORBIS aims to provide a nexus for faculty and students from a variety of academic backgrounds to engage in discussion, cross-pollination of ideas and multi-disciplinary research on globa

l health and international development issues. CORBIS was formed following the success of the inaugural Global Health and Development Conference at the University of Sussex in April 2016. The name comes from the amalgamation of three latin words in the phrase 'Corpus', 'Orbis', 'Sanis' meaning 'world', 'health' and 'body'. The consortium comprises undergraduate and postgraduate students from medical and development backgrounds with the support of faculty at the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex, Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), The Centre for Global Health Policy, Centre for Cultures of Reproduction, Health and Technologies (CORTH) and the Wellcome Trust Centre for Global Health Research at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
