Greetings my friends that frequent our little corner of the worldwide web. Hope you are all doing OK today.

Today marks the 10th Anniversary of Brexit which if you've been with LOFT55 from the start you'll know influenced my decision to use what I do as a platform to celebrate community.

Primarily in the off-line space through setting aside our differences in the name of creating healthy community cohesion away from all the stuff that floods social media channels and causes division.

I explain in this video my thoughts and purpose that also reflects on my wife's and mine Vietnamese experience that formed the basis of what LOFT55 represents.

Today's post is dedicated to a chap I met sleeping on a bench this morning who has to deal with what Brexit has caused him and how he's trying his best to roll with those punches.

Two things happened today.

Thing 1. I put these new water headbands in water as they are supposed to cool your head down. They don't work.

Thing 2. I've eventually got round to writing my first blog post in over 2 years. This being about experiences regaining ground to restart LOFT55 from almost minus ground zero if such a thing is a thing.

Now, I can't link the blog post so if you're one of the 99% of people that can't be arsed to go on my website to the blog section I won't hold that against you 🤣

However if you are that person that jumps through a few hoops to find it then please be of the understanding that you are my spirit human (for a brief moment I'm time)

Either way, have a nice rest of your day and stay cool in the heat.

Good evening out there in the land of 'it's getting hot again' 😊 Sorry, not many off the peg tees at the moment. Maybe next year.

So, you may be one of the few remaining LOFT55 Owners that either get to see my social media posts or are still part of the journey and take note. Either way is perfectly cool with me my friends and I really do appreciate not being the only one.

Today I've written my first blog post in over 24 months as both a reintroduction for LOFT55 going into its new period and also to capture the period that has required a pivot into another area to fund this community inspired idea I started in 2018.

Actually the bones of this started way before then through music, dancing and running events.

Morning and salutations from out on the road this morning as the great weather returns for a bit.

I've been sitting on this one as I needed to find a picture of my friend who took this snap of out on maneuvers recently.

Let's get into the backstory folks starting with Huw.
On good authority from Hannah, Huw is a stand up chap so that's a great reason to post this fine fellow in what I think is the now discontinued 'safety pink'

Picture 2 shows Hannah and hubs taken way way back with what I think was the first ever LOFT55 Home Delivery when we were in Lockers.

It might seem incredible to some that I can remember such detail but I can and it's all part of this clothing concept that remains as the years pass.

To end, firstly a big big thank you to all three owners in these two pictures and ofcourse, feel welcome to keep sending me your LOFT55's on their own individual journeys my friends.

So. Today on my cleaning round I took my Eddie Cuba out for a spin. Just a normal day working yet two separate people asked for one for themselves. Blimey, I thought all this stuff kind of stopped when I flipped from clothing to cleaning.

Begs the question though and it's got me thinking about how I can operate again as a side gig.

To be blunt, my reach on the socials isn't what it used to be plus I'm not exactly snowed under with requests these days. However, I'm continuing with the swag cautiously with a seasonal approach.

Let's test it though. Comment if all year round on demand works for you my friends.

My very first dj set up. A Realistic mixer, two Hi-Fi belt drive decks and all wired up to an Aiwa amp.

This was taken in my room that I lived in at RAF Buchan I think in 1991.

Over the Christmas period my watch were on duty so none of us could go and see our families so we cobbled together and made do.

My two mates Bladesy & Pinky decided to buy some dj equipment from town (Peterhead) Without this course of action I wouldn't of started off my journey into life through music. So Mr you have a lot to answer for mate.

As for our Christmas, we broke into The NAAFI Disco and fired things up with all manner of early rave music, Hiphop and Ragga. Great days and much fun with fire extinguishers was had.

Within 18 months I'd be djing at Scotland's biggest regular rave in Edinburgh called Rezerection on the second sound system for a 12 month.

This didn't last as I got my marching orders for taking over the mic on the main stage uninvited. Didn't mind that much as the music was getting way too hard and fast by then and I'd discovered house felt and sounded much better.

Now I'm well into my 50s I look back on these events with great fondness and also happiness that I've shared them with life long friends. And that's why I still dj and go out dancing with decades of great times in the tank.

Back out on the road but this time without The Swag ⚓️ or my bottles of Zoflora 🌿 as I'm taking the sounds of LOFT55 into the countryside next month.

It's been quite a while since I've played out and most definitely not in such surroundings that this request for one's services presents.

As the name suggests, it's a laid-back affair outdoors with excellent roast din dins too.

I've opted for a Sunday spot instead of a Saturday to keep things relaxed plus it's a 4 hour rollout, so that's quite a session for my first one since swapping djing for clothing.

Afternoon my friends.

Time for an appreciation post with this absolute legend I get to call my friend after over two decades.

Like a lot of you in this community of ours you've all played a part in getting LOFT55 into year eight. Always grateful so thank you 😊

When you put on one of the sweats or tees this wouldn't of happened if my mate Christopher Routledge hadn't of given me the encouragement to start doing the clothing when I explained my intentions to start a community focused clothing label.

This morning after Chris's 50th celebrations last night we got this pic taken of two old mates in a slightly worse for wear condition having a hug and a smile with some funky head swag.

Big love to you all but slightly more today for this fine fella who many of us love dearly.
