We're excited to join together this Sunday at 10am as we start our new series: Open Skies. “Look up at the sky and count the stars - if indeed you can count them.” God calls us to higher places - to break out of the confinements we place on ourselves.

We’ll be spotlighting our partnership with Compassion and hearing more about the difference their work is making around the world.

Many people in our church already sponsor children through Compassion, and on the day we’ll be joined by a few special guests — including a Compassion graduate, who will share his story and what Compassion has meant for his journey.

The Holy Spirit came with the sound of rushing wind, filling EVERY person present. No longer just for prophets or kings - His presence was poured out for all people. The same Spirit who empowered Peter with boldness, transformed wilderness into fertile ground, and revealed Jesus to Simeon now lives in YOU.

You carry the treasure of God’s presence.
Your workplace can become a sanctuary.
Your conversations can lead people to Jesus.
Your ordinary moments can become divine appointments.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t come because we are perfect. He comes to make us holy, reveal our purpose, and give us faith for impossible prayers.

What if the gap between where you are and where God’s calling you to be could be filled by His power?

Sunday, we explored the transformative gift of the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues - not as something strange, but as a divine tool to build our faith, break through fear, and connect with God more deeply.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14 that praying in tongues edifies and builds us up. It’s like charging our spiritual batteries, stirring up the power of God within us. It’s a language the enemy can’t understand: It brings clarity, breaks strongholds, and fills us with peace that surpasses understanding.

Don’t settle for low-battery faith. The Holy Spirit isn’t just present in your life - He wants to fill you, lead you, and empower you for everything God has called you to.

Great hearing from Pastors Andrew and Jethro Staggs this Sunday at CityCoast!

We were so stirred by the picture of the church as God’s “greenhouse” – a Spirit-filled community where lives are nurtured, transformed and grown into the likeness of Jesus. 🌱

Loved hearing how CHC and Upper Room Academy are equipping a new generation to carry that same greenhouse culture into universities, workplaces and churches across the world.

Let’s keep building that kind of environment here in Brighton & Worthing – rooted in the Word, empowered by the Spirit, and devoted to one another in community.
