TreeActionUK organises tree planting and maintenance events and programmes in schools and communities working with environmental organisations, arborists and rangers, enabling young people to re-connect with their environment for mental well-being.

‼️‼️We need a few helping hands please to help us relocate mulch this Friday 12th June at 10am at Adur Recreation Ground, BN43 5LT

🌳 Our mulch delivery has arrived and we’ll be wheelbarrowing it to the back of the field where our saplings are planted.

✨There’s free parking available, and as always - many hands make light work! If you can spare a bit of time on Friday morning, we’d love your support.

Meet at 10am at Adur Recreation Ground Car Park and stay
as long as you like.
O Come along and help our young trees thrive.
What to wear and what to bring:
• Outdoor gardening clothes
• Sturdy footwear (hiking boots ideal or trainers)
• Dress for the weather - waterproofs or SPF!
• Protective eyewear advised - safety goggles or sunglasses
• Gardening gloves if you have them - if not, we can provide
• Water to drink / a snack to eat

🌳 Lovely event this evening at Middle Road Rec in the sunshine with Herbie, Gabby, Ross, James, Matt, Anna and Eva

💚 Our Conservation Leader Herbie was telling us about oak trees: they reach maturity at 40 years old, their leaves are a recognisable with deep lobes and smooth edges, their flowers are long yellow catkins and they bear acorns as fruit - a food source for jays, mice and squirrels.

✨ This National Volunteers’ Week, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who has supported TreeAction on our journey so far. We turn seven this year and together we have achieved an enormous amount: nine orchard planting projects in local schools, planting on farms and four community tree planting sites across Sussex.

🌳 As a non-profit organisation, we simply couldn’t do what we do without the time, energy, kindness and commitment of our volunteers. Whether you’ve helped plant trees, cared for young saplings, supported community events, shared our message, or given your skills behind the scenes, your contribution has been invaluable.

💚 Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. You help us grow not just trees, but stronger communities, greener spaces, and a greater sense of connection to nature. Your support has helped turn ideas into action and made a real difference to our success to date.


💪 We know that volunteering is a generous act. It is an act of trust, care, and belief in a better future. We are so grateful to everyone who has given their time to TreeAction, whether once or many times, in person or remotely, recently or over many years.

We need a few helping hands to relocate mulch this Saturday at 10am at Adur Recreation Ground, BN43 5LT please.

🪏 National Children’s Gardening Week aims to capture children’s enthusiasm at a time when results are immediate. National Children’s Gardening Week takes place annually in the ‘warm’ week at the end of May.

🙌 We encourage parents, grandparents, schools or garden businesses find ideas for fun garden projects and activities to get children involve.

🌱 No Mow May has became a regular reminder in the modern day garden maintenance calendar, thanks to the Salisbury based charity Plantlife. They introduced the concept in 2019 in order to address the decline in insect populations.

🌱 With more than 23m gardens in the UK, even a small patch of lawn left to grow can make a difference, according to the charity.

We love seeing sunshine smiles on every Tree Maintenance events! A big thank you to the brilliant volunteers who joined us at Southwick Recreation Ground 🌱

🫶 Led by our fantastic conservation leaders, Elliott and Herbie, the team spent time weeding and mulching the saplings to give them the best chance to thrive. It’s great to see the hawthorn and oak trees doing so well, thanks to everyone’s hard work and care.

🌟 These sessions make a real difference—not just for the trees, but for the whole community.
