We've celebrated our amazing volunteers all week and their frontline support for community. So what a wonderful way to end this year's Volunteers' Week with some incredibly moving words directly from one of the people who has been helped through our volunteer's support. Thank you Tony for sharing this outstanding accolade of our volunteers: 💞 Life is complicated, but an HIV diagnosis can shatter it entirely. It’s like looking through a kaleidoscope: suddenly, every ordered piece of your world is thrown into total chaos. 🌀
For me, Lunch Positive has been more than just a service. In my darkest moments—facing homelessness, hunger, and crisis—they were:
A refuge and a lifeline ⚓
A steadying hand 🤝
A vital source of food and sustenance 🍲
A community where there is zero judgment—only presence.
This safety is built on the bedrock of the volunteers and staff. Their skill, good humor, and tireless dedication are what keep this community standing.
Volunteering isn’t just a "nice gesture"—it is a vital force that saves lives.
To the team at Lunch Positive: Thank you for being there when the world went dark. 🧡

Pictured are just a few of the events where our volunteer team has been given community awards for the impact of our work including the Queens Award for Voluntary Service - we're the only grassroots HIV organisation to have ever been awarded one, and a visit to the Lunch Positive from The United Nations Aids delegstion!
