Not craftivism but I made this reversible keyboard cover. I used wadding made from recycled plastic bottles, so I felt it might be a good eco choice. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm wondering if it's going to degrade, like plastic bags do? πŸ˜•

Hi Craftivists,
I've heard of a possible campaign raising funds for grassroots organisations in Minneapolis supporting communities affected. We'd be making mini red hat keyrings/charms in protest at ICE. It would be a pay what you can event, in a local group, but groups around the country Zooming together. There's also a planned presentation by Hull Anti-Raids talking about how to support your local community and rights for people seeking asylum.
There'll be more information next week, but I wanted to give you the heads up and gauge interest. Probably 17 Feb in the evening.
If you're interested, could you indicate here, or send me a message, please?

Hello fellow Craftivists. I've been a bit quiet as I've had a bit of a wobble. Nothing too serious, it all just got a bit overwhelming so I stepped back a bit.
Then yesterday I watched The Need to Grow and whilst it does lay out some fairly grim realities it is also incredibly inspiring. Do watch if you get the chance. Link below.
So what projects or campaigns are you working on or considering?
I recently sewed a patch onto The Coat of Hopes while it was at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church I used the ribbon I received in a parcel from The Craftivist Collective so a little bit of Brighton and Craftivism will travel with the coat wherever it goes.
Has anyone any suggestions for 2026? Is there anything we can do collectively?
Let me know here, or message me ☺️

We had an amazing evening on Friday at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church spending time together repairing the Coat of Hopes and refreshing tired fabric while we shared reflections and memories. We also got to view the knitted map project of the old laines of Brighthelmstone. For someone who loves textiles, like I do, it was Christmas come early! Thank you to everyone for making it such a lovely time of community.

Behold The Coat of Hopes
The Coat of Hopes is an ever growing patchwork garment on a long term pilgrimage through the UK.
It has been made, worn and walked by many hundreds of people, for a distance of over 1900 miles so far, carrying their hopes for the places they live in the face of climate and ecological breakdown.
The Coat is made up of pieces of blanket into which people have worked their griefs,
remembrances, prayers and hopes for the places they call home. It carries a space in which to be present, and remember our shared responsibility as we face this climate and ecological emergency
together.
Dorset Gardens Methodist Church, will be hosting a stitching and sharing of
the Coat in Brighton. Alongside the Woolly Umbrella's Knitted 1792 Map of
Brighthelmstone.
All are invited to meet with, sew into and wear the Coat.
Date: Friday 12th of December
Drop in anytime: 4- 8pm
Location:Dorset Gardens Methodist Church, Dorset Gardens, Kemptown, Brighton, BN2 1RL.
Join us at 6.30pm to hear the song of The Coat of Hopes, reflections from the journey
so far and to share your hopes and remembrances of Brighton.

The Coat of Hopes is currently resting at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church
If you'd like to see it up close, feel free to drop in anytime this week when the church is open, (10-16 Nov) weekdays usually 9.30-12.30
It's an amazing piece of collaborative work which carries people's hopes and cares around the country. It travelled from Newhaven to Glasgow for COP26 in 2021 and gradually made its way back home. Now setting out again it left Newhaven on Sunday 9 November and arrived at Dorset Gardens. From here it will be part of the Brighton Climate Justice Coalition's Global Day of Action event on Saturday 15 Nov. Meet at the Peace Statue at 11.15 and walking back to Dorset Gardens for hot soup and stalls at 1.15

Would love to see it arriving 'home'
