On Saturday, I took my youngest daughter, Nell, on the Story Trail! 📚🌳

We started at Preston Manor, where the beautiful Secret Garden bench was perfectly placed, before making our way down into Brighton, stopping at the various benches along the trail to complete the Story Trail sticker book and read all about each story on the app. 🪑✨

We finished our adventure at Churchill Square, which means we still have plenty more benches to discover on our next outing!

If you haven’t tried the Story Trail yet, I can highly recommend it. It’s such a lovely way to explore Brighton, enjoy some time together and discover stories along the way. 💕📖

Disabled dancers are performing a show at The Old Market Theatre called Come Alive on Sunday 8th November.

This is a great opportunity for peer role modelling and for parents and carers to see the potential in people with learning disabilities and neurodivergence!

Come Alive is a relaxed theatre experience, audience members can stay for as little or as long as they like and come in and out. There will be quiet spaces available.

Echo Performing Arts CIC presents a blend of dance, performing arts, animation, film, and communication empowerment, capturing how its bright community of performers with learning disabilities and/or neurodivergencies see the world around them.

Disabled people, carers, or anyone interested in accessibility are invited to an open online meeting about proposals for a new active travel scheme along the A259 between Hove Lawns and West Street.

Read the NNPCF response to the Department for Education consultation on Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS).

It stresses that EOTAS reform must put children first. No child should be left without education because they don't fit a threshold.

No cliff edges.
No forced returns to school.
No one-size-fits-all solutions.

Children need individualised, flexible education that works for them - with families listened to and support protected.

Sensing Friends support young people aged 8-25 with sensory needs, based in Hove. They start a 6 week online parent/carer peer support group on 27th October. It is a drop in after the first initial session and is free.

A quick introduction - I’m Ali and I’m taking over from Paolo here at PaCC.
