Please be aware of what's happening in central Brighton this Saturday and stay safe:

You may already know that an anti-migrant march is planned in Brighton & Hove this Saturday 13 June. The route is not yet clear.

There is also a counter-protest called Carnival Against Fascism (https://www.instagram.com/carnivalagainstfascism) taking place on the same day in Queens Road, which some local community groups are involved in.

We wanted to advise Amaze families - especially those from minoritised communities - so that they can take steps to stay safe. Please take extra care when travelling around the city that day, especially in areas where demonstrations may be taking place or avoid central Brighton altogether this Saturday.

You can find advice on how to report hate crimes, counter mis-information and keep people safe via Community Base: https://www.communityworks.org.uk/whats-new/solidarity-against-anti-migrant-activity/

NEW: Sensong Workshops CIC Summer Music Programme – August 2026
We are pleased to share details of our summer SEND music workshops for 14+ years. Workshops take place throughout August 2026 with sessions running 10am - 3pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (4 - 28th August).
Location: Small Pond, 27 Castle Street, Brighton, BN1 2HD.
The programme consists of 4 x 5-hour music workshops (with regular breaks), attended on the same day each week. Over the four sessions, young people will:
Explore and develop songwriting techniques
Write and produce their own original song
Record in a professional recording studio
Shoot a music video
Release their track on a local record label run by SEND musicians
This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to build confidence and creativity through music, and we are incredibly proud of what past participants have achieved.
Cost and Accessibility:
The full four-session programme is available at £50 total per person. We are happy to discuss flexible arrangements — please do not hesitate to get in touch if this would be helpful.
All staff delivering the programme are fully DBS checked. All students must apply via our application form found on our website.

Please see attached leaflet for information on eligibility and how to apply for sessions.
Brighton Swimming School – please see outline of the offer below:
During the holidays, and in addition to the SEND Short Breaks swimming sessions, we run 1:1 intensive swimming lessons, which can be booked as 3-, 4-, or 5-day courses. Each session is 30 minutes long and taught by one of our swim teachers.
Prices are:
3 days – £77.99
4 days – £103.99
5 days – £129.99
These lessons have become very popular with children with SEN, partly because we limit the number of 1:1s in the pool at any one time (maximum of 😎. This helps keep the environment much calmer and quieter than a typical public pool. We also take time to speak with parents or carers before the lessons to find out what works best for the child in terms of structure, and to learn about their interests. This helps us make the sessions as enjoyable and effective as possible.
Due to the age and design of the building, we do have limited wheelchair access and unfortunately, no hoist is available.
Please contact [email protected] or call 01273 434400 (option1) to enquire.

We’re pleased to be working with the team at the King Alfred Leisure Centre Swimming Pool to offer 1:1 swimming lessons. Please note, this pool does not have a hoist.
If your child or young person requires a hoist to access the pool, please contact [email protected] as subsidised 1:1 sessions can be facilitated at the Prince Regent Leisure Centre.
If you are interested in booking a session, please contact Karen Rutter (Swim School Manager)
[email protected]

Withdean Climbing Wall
Withdean Freedom Leisure offer 1:1 climbing sessions. They offer a 10% discount for children and young people with SEND, which means a 1-hour session is £70.20, and a 30-minute session is £35.55.

We are offering our heated indoor swimming pool for private hire family swims. We have noodles, toys, and floatation devices for your use as well as 6 individual changing rooms and a poolside shower.

We built this pool specifically for SEN families and families with children 7 years and under. The pool isn't much fun for older children due to the size.

We are unable to accommodate pool parties, there is a swimming pool in Patcham called 'Ridgeside Pool', who may be able to help you with this request.

There is mood lighting and connect via Bluetooth for music to enhance your experience.

Parents and Carers Event -Impact of SEND Reforms on Black, Asian and Minoritised Disabled Children, Young People and their Families.

Include Me TOO have organised an important online event for parents and carers from our diverse communities regarding the SEND Reforms on impact on Black, Asian and minoritised disabled children, young people and their families.

Join them for a critical conversation on the impact of SEND Reforms on Black, Asian and minoritised disabled children, young people and their families

Discussions will cover:

-Do the SEND reforms risk disproportionately affecting Black, Asian and minoritised disabled children and young people?
-Why it is important to ensure our voices are heard and views considered within the SEND Reforms Proposal.

We cannot risk for Black, Asian and minoritised disabled children and young people and families to be further disadvantaged and left further behind.

Can you help Belltree Music Therapy CIC design a new neonatal graduate music project?

Can you help? ✨

We are currently developing a free to attend, 10 week neonatal graduate music therapy group for parents and their baby/s, to support the transition between leaving NICU and returning to the community. To ensure that we are delivering a service that is as appropriate and supportive as possible, we would value hearing the views of parents/caregivers with past lived experience of having a baby on NICU, to help guide the set up of this project.

We have put together a questionnaire for families who have experienced the NICU to help guide us around the design of the project. We would be grateful if you could share this with anybody who may be able and willing to take part.

You can follow the QR code to the questionnaire or copy and paste the URL into your search bar: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScHtguLPzCk4f9B2pEU_xpeKPO7gRl7RF0ki9CH2QFFMiO4IQ/viewform?usp=send_form
