Brighouse Traditional Karate Club Brighouse Traditional Karate Club is a non-profit group based in Brighouse and Rastrick, West Yorkshire. Our aim is to promote traditional Shotokan Karate.

BTKC is affiliated to the JKA WF England, which is in turn a part of the world-famous JKA WF (Japan Karate Association World Federation). We are blessed to have direct access to arguably the greatest teacher and practitioner of Shotokan Karate alive today - Sensei Masao Kawasoe. Sensei Kawasoe runs a course and grading at our dojo three times a year, which is an incredible honour for us. In additi

on to that, we attend at least three international JKA courses each year (held in the UK), where we are taught by senior instructors from all over the world - and especially from JKA headquarters in Japan. So behind our modest and friendly club hidden away in West Yorkshire, lies instruction and backing from the best in the world !
