On 🥳 NCI Day 🥳, Spot the Watchkeeper from took the weight off his paws to take it easy in the sun. When not helping the on-duty Watchkeepers Neil and Pete to keep an eye on the sea and the beach, he gently woofed and waved at passers-by.

Look out for Spot in the coming weeks at Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock and at Charmouth....he'll be waiting to shake your paw.

Station Manager, Judy, was delighted to award Nigel his new epaulettes. In addition to being the Station's Training Officer, he has recently become a Deputy Station Manager in recognition of taking on the role of Training Officer for Sector 5 (Dorset, East Devon and Needles).

Nigel has much experience in the training field and under his watchful eye, all Watchkeepers are trained consistently and according to HMCG protocols. Well done Nigel!

Whilst Watchkeeper, Paul, was passing through St Ives on his motorcycle tour of Devon and Cornwall, he dropped in on St Ives. Paul says that he received a very warm welcome from the Watchkeepers, gaining an insight into how the Station operates and also some recommendations for his onward two-wheeled adventure.

Whenever, you are near the coast and have ascertained that there is an Station in the vicinity, do drop in to see the Watchkeepers. As long as there is not an ongoing incident, you will be made most welcome to see what we do and understand the role we play alongside the other SAR services.

This is 🥳 All 2,900+ NCI Watchkeepers in the 61 Stations around the coast of England and Wales give their time freely. In 2025 some 300,000 hours were given! 🥳🥳
