A snippet of the fun the children have been having, in no particular order: painting colourful masterpieces, building imaginative dens, splashing in puddles, baking, exploring nature, dancing to their favourite songs, tackling obstacle courses, enjoying story time, creating with LEGO, etc etc and sharing plenty of laughter along the way.

Today we said goodbye to our lovely leavers as they head off to big school. 💙

We have loved watching you grow in confidence, make friends, and create so many happy memories with us.

We also enjoyed some fantastic solo performances on the microphone today! 🎤 It was wonderful to see so many children singing with confidence and having fun.

We also said goodbye to Teri, who will be joining the children at BPS. We wish her lots of luck in her new adventure.

Good luck at big school, but first, have a wonderful summer! ☀️

This week the children harvested the potatoes they planted. After the children had washed the potatoes we boiled them and some of them chose to have warm potatoes as their snack in the afternoon.
At first some of the children said they didn't like potatoes but after trying them they came back for more. 🤣 They were delicious 👌

Today we looked at a robin's nest and a hornets' nest. We talked about how they are made and how they are different. We learned that robins build their nests using twigs, grass, mud, and other natural materials to keep their eggs and chicks safe. Hornets make their nests by chewing wood and mixing it with their saliva to create a paper-like material.

The children have had lots of fun getting messy and being creative with paint. They enjoyed mixing different colours together, painting the playground, and even painting themselves! To cool down, they spent time indoors exploring ice and with watercolours. The children also loved jumping, splashing, and making bubbles in the tuff tray, which brought lots of excitement and laughter. We also enjoyed sharing ice lollies together, which was a lovely way to cool down and enjoy a refreshing treat in the warm weather.

The children have been enjoying learning about the life cycle of butterflies and frogs.

We have now released one set of Painted Lady butterflies, but we still have some caterpillars that have gone to sleep in their chrysalises. So far, we have had one froglet, which we had to release after it jumped out of our tank! We are hoping to have more frogs soon, as there are some giant-sized tadpoles in the tank that seem to be developing well.

We also found an interesting Buff-tip moth in the garden, which looks just like a little stick. This sparked lots of curiosity, and we enjoyed learning about them too. The Buff-tip moth's caterpillars are yellow and black and can be found from July to early October.

The children have loved observing and learning about their life cycles.
