Local needlework artist, Rosa Grew-McEvoy, produced this gorgeous linen banner for the launch of the Flax Forward Project at Bridport Charter Fair last Saturday 🪡 Rosa was helped by her sister, Talis Snell.

To support young people who would like to get involved in the Flax Forward Project from June to December, we’re offering 3 bursaries of up to £500 for under 30s.

This is a great opportunity to be part of exhibitions, oral histories, flax craft, films & exhibitions and help tell an untold local story.

Interested in local history, heritage or craft? Help us to uncover the story of flax in and around Bridport.

Join Flax Forward, a new volunteer‑led project uncovering Bridport’s hidden flax heritage.

We’re looking for volunteer researchers to explore the archives, record memories, map landscapes and get hands‑on with flax growing and making.

Be part of exhibitions, oral histories, flax craft, films & exhibitions and help tell an untold local story.

No experience needed — Flexible commitment | Open to all | Support provided

Bursaries of up to £500 available for those under 30: support for up to 3 young people to help make volunteering possible — incl. research bursaries + a Bridport Linen Dress Project bursary.
