ROALD DAHL'S MATILDA THE MUSICAL JR. AUDITIONS

Are you a young person aged 12-18 years old who lives in the Bridlington Area?

Do you love performing and musical theatre?

Then Spotlight Youth Theatre, produced by Arcade needs you!

Auditions for ARCADE's Spotlight Youth Theatre’s 2025 musical of Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical Junior will be taking place on Wednesday 29th January and Wednesday 5th February at Spotlight Theatre Bridlington.

Young people will need to attend both audition dates.

On Wednesday 29th January, we will run two timeslots based on age.

From 6:30pm-7:40pm, we will workshop audition young people aged 12-13 years old.

From 7:50pm-9pm, we will workshop audition young people aged 14-18 years old.

Wednesday 5th February’s workshop audition will be run with everyone together from 6:30pm-9pm so we can review everyone working together for final decisions. Casting will be revealed at the end of this session ready for the start of rehearsals the following week.

Auditions will be run workshop-style which means there won’t be anything to prepare in advance. Both workshop auditions will be relaxed, fun and creative and give us the opportunity to see how everyone works together, and who will fit well in what role.

In the workshop auditions, you will have the opportunity to:

*express which roles they’re interested in

*learn a dance routine,

*come up with their own choreography,

*learn 3 songs from the musical

*act small scenes from the musical in pairs and groups.

Rehearsals will run from 12th February through to performance dates from Friday 27th- Sunday 29th June.

TONIGHT'S SPOTLIGHT YOUTH THEATRE CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW AND ICE (20/11/2024)

Hello Parents and Guardians of Spotlight Youth Theatre young people,

Tonight's session is cancelled due to snow and ice to prioritise the safety of your young people.
Parents and guardians have been contacted via phone and email with additional information about:

*Postponement of next week's performance due to tonight's cancellation. All tickets purchased are valid for the new performance date.
*Next week's session will go ahead as rehearsal and festive celebration for end of term.
*Term starts again on 8th January.

Hello everyone!

We hope you all had a marvellous Summer Holidays and we're very much looking forward to welcoming many of you back and some new faces too!

Term starts next week at Spotlight Theatre on Wednesday 11th September, 6:30pm-9pm.

This term we have several exciting opportunities taking place, alongside Spotlight Youth Theatre sessions, including the opportunity to be a part of Pied Piper - A Hip Hop Musical, and the Bird on the Edge project with North Yorkshire Moors Trust.
