Woolavington and Puriton’s Villages Together was one of 150 areas awarded £1 million from Big Local.

In 2012, an area including the villages of Woolavington and Puriton was chosen by the National Lottery to be one of 150 areas in England to receive a £1 million ‘Big Local’ grant.

Over the next fourteen years, the local community established ‘Villages Together’ – the Big Local Partnership! – and, supported by SHAL Housing Limited, we invested £1,199,500 into making Woolavington and Puriton even better places to live!

The attached Report captures the journey of Villages Together’s Big Local – the dozens of local people who volunteered to research, consult, budget, and plan how the money could be spent on the priorities identified by our residents; the 70+ local groups, projects, and events that were funded, and the hundreds of people who have benefitted over the years!
