Bridgnorth W.I Welcome to Bridgnorth WI

Are you new to the area? Would you like to make new friends, learn new skills or improve on old ones?

Would you like to become involved in your community or simply have an enjoyable evening out once a month and meet like minded people? In which case, WELCOME TO BRIDGNORTH WI. In WI eyes, we are a 'new' group, having only just celebrated our 12th birthday. We are based in the centre of Bridgnorth at the Baptist Church. We are a diverse group and are well known, not only for our community spirit, bu

t for our love of having fun while at the same time tempering that with learning and sharing our skills with others. The National Federation of Womenโ€™s Institutes (NFWI) (www.thewi.org.uk) is our national body and was formed in 1915. The NFWI is also the largest voluntary organisation for women in the UK. In Shropshire alone there are 122 WIs with around 3,219 members.

BRIDGNORTH WI CARNIVAL 2026!!
๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŽก
What a fantastic day!!!
Bridgnorth WI were delighted to run our Jarbolla stall in support of Bridgnorth First Responders, helping to raise funds for the incredible work they do in our community.
Despite the extremely hot weather, our volunteers were absolutely amazing all day long โ€” full of smiles, energy and community spirit. A huge thank you to everyone who helped, donated and came along to have a go.
We even had a special appearance from our very own Minion, who proved very popular with visitors young and old! ๐Ÿ’›
Thank you, Bridgnorth, for your wonderful support โ€” and well done to all involved in making the day such a success.

May's monthly was both fascinating and informative. We were joined by Stewart Fowler from The Rising Phoenix Clinic to tell us all about Japanese Integrated Medicine.
๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Japanese Integrated Medicine practitioners blend advanced modern healthcare with traditional Japanese healing methods to support the body, mind, and spirit. Common practices include Kampo herbal medicine, acupuncture, shiatsu massage, meditation, nutritional therapy, and lifestyle-based prevention. Rooted in centuries of wisdom from Japan, these practices focus on restoring balance, enhancing natural healing, and promoting long-term wellness through a holistic approach to health.๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต
We all participated in some exercises and he also did some one on one with volunteers.

A huge well done and thank you to our fantastic WI members who ran the water station at the Bridgnorth Walk yesterday! ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ‘Ÿ
From early morning set-up to the last walkers coming through, you kept everyone going with smiles, encouragement, and much-needed refreshments along the route.
Events like this really show the best of our town, and weโ€™re so proud that the WI could play a part in supporting such a brilliant local tradition.
Hereโ€™s to community spirit, teamwork, and a well-earned sit-down after a busy day. Well done all!

All of us at Bridgnorth WI are wishing all the luck to everyone participating in today's walk!

SUSTAINABLE FASHION

Join us to hear about one of the many exciting new initiatives that are being developed in our beautiful town and caring community.

At our next meeting on Thursday 16th April, we are welcoming Lizzie Dibble as our guest speaker.

Lizzie is the founder of the shared wardrobe, and she will be talking to us about Sustainable Fashion.

Lizzie will be talking about important environmental issues such as reducing waste through clothes swapping, making repairs and clothes lending, as well as her new initiative that she has introduced to our town.

At Bridgnorth WI, we welcome visitors to attend our meetings for ยฃ4 (including refreshments), without commitment, with the later option to join us if you enjoy what we have to offer.

We meet at Bridgnorth Baptist Church, West Castle Street, WV16 4AB. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, and we look forward to seeing you.

We welcomed Councillor Rachel Connolly to our March meeting.

Rachel gave us an interesting talk and insight into her rewarding year as Bridgnorth Mayor. It was fascinating to hear about the role and responsibilities of our Mayor in Bridgnorth, and to share the sense of pride that Rachel felt in her service to our wonderful town. Rachel donated her payment to a chosen charity that she supports.
Thank you, Rachel. Truly inspiring.

Thank you to the National Search and Rescue Dogs Association, as well as West Mercia Search and Rescue team, for their excellent work in keeping us safe when we are in need.
