Ellie is 3 years old and has right sided Hemiplegic Cerebral palsy, resulting from a stroke. This causes Ellie to have difficulty using the right hand side of her body. She is a very bright and determined little girl who doesn't let anything stand in her way. Having this surgery would mean that Ellie will be able to do things that her friends can do and that she can't join in with at the moment. S
tuff we take for granted like jumping, walking down the stairs, riding a bike Ellie can't do now and will struggle to do in the future. This surgery could change all of that for her and allow her so many more opportunity's in life. When Ellie walks, her foot severely turns in making walking difficult, uncomfortable and very tiring. She has numerous falls and finds rooms full of people daunting as she is easily knocked off balance. As Ellie grows her spasticity will only get worse, with each growth spurt we are already noticing that her muscles are getting tighter, which will affect her mobility if we don't do anything about it. We do daily physio and stretches which will always be a part of Ellie's life, even if we raise enough for her to have the surgery but by having it we can ensure that Ellie doesn't lose mobility and it will allow her to do so much more physically. It would make such a massive difference to Ellie's life now and in the future and we want more than anything to be able to give her this opportunity.
