Bridgend County Group RDA is part of the National Charity Riding for the Disabled Association. We provide riding and equine‑assisted therapy sessions for local schoolchildren and individuals with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties, including sensory, mental health well being, and physical support needs.

Our sessions are held on Mondays and Fridays (term time) and Saturday mornings from 8:40 am to 1:00 pm we use the equine facilities at Pencoed College.

COULD YOU VOLUNTEER WITH US IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

We are always looking for suitable volunteers to help us make a difference through the love of horses and the development of lifelong skills for children and young people. Whether it's at the riding sessions or being part of our Fundraising Team, you will be able to make a valued contribution to our commitment to keeping our group going. Volunteering with the RDA is great fun and requires a medium level of fitness. All sessions are led by a qualified RDA Coach who is supported by a friendly team of trained volunteers. You do not need to have experience with horses to apply, just the passion and enthusiasm to work in our team to make a difference to our participants. Some horsey knowledge would be a bonus but all training and support will be in place for you if you don't.

We rely solely on donations/fundraising to help us continue to deliver our sessions and we receive no formal funding from the Local Authority or Welsh Government

Today was Robbie's turn, but Ronnie had to step in and lead because Robbie wasn't quite confident in taking the lead 🥰 🐴🥰🐴 They were both very good boys 😀
