As enters its final days, the world is waiting to see whether leaders can land the kind of deal people everywhere are calling for: a fair, credible, properly funded transition away from fossil fuels, with strong support for the communities already feeling the biggest impacts. We'll be sharing a summary of the outcomes in the coming days, so stay tuned.

There are signs it’s still possible. Reports suggest negotiators believe the divide on fossil fuels can be bridged if countries show real leadership and a willingness to work together. This is a moment to step up - not step back.

Here in the UK, that matters. For 15 years, the Climate Change Act has helped cut pollution, support good jobs, protect the places we love, and give communities a sense of pride and progress. It’s been a foundation for cross-party cooperation and a signal to the world that the UK takes its responsibilities seriously.

Rolling it back now, as Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has said she'd do if elected, would take us in the opposite direction to where people across the UK - and around the world - want to go: forward, together, towards a healthier, fairer, safer future.

This is about who we are as a country: people who look after one another, who care about our homes and communities, and who want leadership that protects our shared future.
