How cool is this for our cubs tomorrow!
Tomorrow, (Tuesday 16th June) Hammond's Butchers will be giving the Brenchley & Matfield Cubs ⚜️ a crash-course in sausage making, teaching them the tricks and tips of the trade. Also, we will be presenting them with a challenge... to create a BRAND NEW SAUSAGE! 🌭
Hammonds Butchers and The Poet at Matfield 👨🍳 will be arming them with a range of ingredients to use in their sausage meat. The Cubs will be split into groups and work together to create their own recipes. They will then have a go at filling the sausage skins themselves, right in their own Scout Hut! ⛺️
Then there's the small matter of choosing a name for their creation. Will we have 'Baden's Banger' after Robert Baden-Powell ⚜️ the founder of Scouts? Or maybe a spicy sausage creation will be aptly named 'In-Tents Chilli'⛺️🌶!?
At the end of the night, each Cub will be able to take a pack of their own sausages home to enjoy with their families. 👨👩👧👦
BUT, the challenge doesn't stop there!
A sample of each group's new recipe will then be taken to the wonderful Chefs👨🍳 at the 🪶Poet at Matfield to be tasted, tested and judged where they will decide which new sausage is their favourite!
🏆The winning sausage will then be announced at the following week's Cub night, where the winning group will recieve their 'Sausage Certificate'🎗!
BUT, it doesn't stop there either! The winning recipe will then be taken into Hammond's HQ where the Hammond's Butchers team will re-create the sausage and package them for sale. They will then be available to by from Hammond's Butchers and each pack sold will raise money for repairs and refurbishments needed for the Brenchley and Matfield Scout Hut! 💷💷
