Our AGM is coming round quick.

If you want to learn more about the Edzell Scout Group or think you’d like to lend a hand please do come along.

This is a great group to have in the village for our young ones but does need volunteers to make it happen.

On Sunday 19th July, one of our dads is taking on one of the toughest amateur cycling challenges in the world: Stage 20 of the 2026 Tour de France in the French Alps.
He will be cycling 105 miles with a staggering 5,400 meters of climbing!
He is raising money for Edzell Primary School Parent Council and 55th North Angus Edzell Scout Group

Huge thanks to Rosehill Timber for donating the new fence posts for the scout hut — massively appreciated! And a big thank you to Stewart for getting them installed, sorting the wobbly leaning fence out. It’s looking much better.

One of our Beaver team is stepping down at the end of term, we’re looking for another team member to help run our Beavers sessions on Wednesday evenings from 6–7pm 🦫

You don’t need any scouting experience — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get involved with games, activities, and helping young people have fun and build confidence.

It’s a really rewarding way to give something back to the community. Even if you can only help occasionally, we’d love to hear from you.

✨ WHAT IS A JUMBLE SALE? ✨

If you’ve never been to a jumble sale before, you’re missing out on a fun day full of bargains, surprises, & community spirit! 🛍️💛

A jumble sale is a community event where people donate good-quality unwanted items;
clothes, toys, books,
homeware, bric-a-brac,
and hidden gems
These are then sold at bargain prices.

But jumble sales are about so much more than shopping…

🌍 They help reduce waste and give items a second life
💷 They raise money for charities, schools, churches, and local groups (in this case it’s for 55th North Angus Edzell Scout Group)
🤝 They bring communities together
💎 And you never know what amazing bargain you might find!

From vintage finds to children’s clothes, puzzles, kitchenware, and unexpected treasures, every jumble sale is different AND that’s part of the fun.

Woohoo, jumble sale is almost here. Looking forward to seeing lots of people hunting for a bargain!

🎉 WOW… ONLY ONE WEEK TO GO! 🎉

That’s come around quickly!

It’s time to clear out those sheds, cupboards, lofts and under the beds…… we need your donations for the Village Jumble Sale!

We’re looking for items such as:

🧸 Kids’ toys & games
🚲 Outdoor toys, bikes & scooters
🏡 Homeware & small electricals
🪴 Rugs, curtains & cushions
🧺 Baskets & picnic items
🐾 Pet beds, leads & toys
🌱 Plants & pots
🎟️ New items for our tombola table

There’s something for everyone, so if you think someone else could make use of it, we’d love to have it!

Edzell Scout Group is looking for new Trustees, a Chairperson, and Adult Volunteers to join our team!

This is a great opportunity to support local young people, help shape the future of the group, and be part of a friendly, community focused organisation. No prior Scouting experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.

Whether you can help behind the scenes as a Trustee or Chairperson, or work directly with young people as a volunteer, there’s a role for everyone.
