πŸ“£FOREST FRIENDS SESSION - FOOTWEAR POLICY REMINDERπŸ“£

Due to the wetter weather, we are asking all attendees to bring a clean change of footwear, and not to wear their wellies or forest footwear before the session starts.πŸ‘’πŸ’¦

To help keep the nursery carpets and community room clean and mud-free, we will be using the following routine going forward:
β€’ Before the session: Please arrive in regular shoes. We will change into outdoor shoes/wellies once we are in the "boot/ wellie room" before heading outside.
β€’ After the session: We will change back into regular footwear before coming back inside the main building.

If you forget a change of footwear: We kindly ask that you take your outdoor shoes off before entering the room at the start of the session and do the same at the end of the session before coming back inside.😊

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!🌳🌳

🚨 DONATIONS NEEDED: Strollers & Christmas Jumpers! 🚨

❀️ Can you help us support local families this winter? ❀️

The nursery and community playroom are running a collection for TOGS to support local families, and we need your help!

If you have any of the following items looking for a new home, we would love your help!

πŸ‘‰ 1. Clean Strollers/Pushchairs
TOGS receive daily requests from families in desperate need of a stroller. If yours is no longer needed, donating it could make a massive difference to a parent's daily life.

πŸ‘‰ 2. Christmas Jumpers πŸŽ„
We are thinking ahead to the festive season! TOGS wants to ensure every child they support gets a Christmas jumper this year.

πŸ“ How to donate:
Simply bring your outgrown strollers or jumpers into the nursery reception for the community room, and we will safely pass them on to the TOGS team.

Thank you so much for your amazing kindness and support! 🫢
Please feel free to share this post. πŸ₯°

Please keep a lookout for future appeals, and if you can help with donating, we would be very grateful! You can drop off donations at Maggie's Day Nursery into the community room during play sessions or nursery drop-off / pick-up times.😊

What a fabulous Harvest Festival we had last week at Maggie's Day Nursery - Oakwood and in our Community Room sessions! 🌾✨ We are so proud to share that all of our families' generous food donations have been collected by Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance. They do an absolutely incredible job supporting local families in Derby all year round, and we are so grateful to be able to back their vital work. A massive thank you to everyone who contributed! πŸ‚β€οΈ

Another lovely start to the week with our Forest Friends session! πŸΏπŸžπŸ‚πŸπŸŒ³

The children thoroughly enjoyed our mud kitchen, where they experimented with smelling and stirring real cocoa powder into the water to create "chocolate mud pies". 🍫πŸ₯§

We also got creative with nature paintsβ€”using spray bottles, sticks, and leaves to make our masterpieces! πŸŽ¨πŸ‚
We had plenty of time for taking turns on the slides and gathering together around the firepit area to sing some of our favourite songs! We were even treated to the guitar with Miss Jackie πŸ₯°πŸŽ΅

How do your little ones like to explore nature at home? Let us know in the comments!πŸ‘‡πŸπŸŒ³

We hope you enjoyed the session, please let us know any feedback! What have you enjoyed? What would you like to see? If you've not already attended yet - what are you waiting for!

There's quite a few photos from this week session - so please have a look through and enjoy πŸ“Έ

πŸ‚πŸ‚Our sessions are starting to take an autumn turn πŸ‚πŸ‚

In today's Messy Play we have been exploring our "acorn", squash, painting autumn leaf pictures and making leaf soup in our cinnamon and leaf water - Such a variety of tastes, texture, smells and opportunities!🀩

It has been lovely to meet some new faces to the session this week, as well as some regulars. We hope you all had fun and hope to see you again soon.😊
