At 1st Chivenor Scout Group, we create incredible memories, teach life-changing skills, and have a brilliant time doing it. But none of it happens without our amazing team of adults!
Whether you want to be right in the action with the young people on meeting nights, help out behind the scenes, or take on small, practical tasks that fit around your busy schedule, we have a role for you.
Here is how you can make a difference:

👉 SECTION VOLUNTEERS (Meeting Nights)

• Cubs (Mondays): Help our 8–10½ year olds master new skills and go camping!
• Scouts (Tuesdays): Guide our 10½–14 year olds as they build independence and take on big challenges.
• Beavers (Thursdays): Help our youngest adventurers try new things and earn their very first badges.

👉 LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE

• Group Lead Volunteer: Help shape the future of our group and support our adult team.
• Chairperson & Trustees: Help steer the ship behind the scenes by managing our governance and budget.

👉 PRACTICAL & BITE-SIZED ROLES (In your own time!)

• 🛒 Camp Shopper: Help us source food and supplies before a big camp.
• 📦 Badge Coordinator: Help sort and bag up earned badges ready for presentation nights.
• 📋 Admin Support: Keep us organised with occasional paperwork or emails.
• 🛠️ Store Checker: Keep an eye on our camping gear and equipment.
• 🚐 Minibus Driver / Trailer Towing: Help get our kit and young people to campsites.
• 💰 Grant Applier: Help us secure funding for new equipment and adventures.

Right now, 1 in 10 children don’t have a book at home. That’s why we’re proud to be working with Twinkl, who are helping us change that by donating 60,000 books to our Squirrels and Beavers. 📚

To make it extra special, Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields has written the foreword, cheering on our youngest Scouts as they discover the joy of reading.
