The West Suffolk Arts Centre specializes in engaging communities through participation in the arts and providing supportive learning environments that enable people of all ages and abilities to devise and direct their own learning programmes at a place of their choice and at a pace of their choice. dited qualifications in the Arts for young people aged 11-25 through the Trinity Guildhall Arts Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold levels). The West Suffolk Arts Centre works with groups of home educated young people in Cambridge, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk, offering a wide range of participatory arts experiences.

Brandon & District Local History Society making the jig dolls dance with the wonderful Katie Howson from the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust at the Bridge Hotel last night. We enjoyed a fascinating talk on traditional forms of folk entertainment illustrated with some fantastic photos, recordings and even some live music! Our thanks go to Market Place for supporting this event.

Market Place and West Suffolk Arts Centre together with the Brandon & District Local History Society are pleased to announce that Katie Howson from the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust will be coming to the Bridge Hotel, Brandon on Wednesday 7th September to give her fascinating talk ‘All The Tunes that Ever There Were – an introduction to the traditional music, song and dance traditions of East Anglia'.

2ND BRANDON FILM FESTIVAL

Saturday 19th September 3pm-9.30pm.

Venue: Brandon Leisure Centre, Church Road, Brandon, IP27 0BJ.

Admission is FREE

The Junior Film Festival will be from 3pm-5.30pm. Along with the amazing short films created by our young fimmakers during our recent Action animation workshops we will be showing Paddington 2014 (PG) Running time 1hr 35min.

A young Peruvian bear travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he meets the kindly Brown family, who offer him a temporary haven.

Later screenings include short films submitted by local filmmakers competing for the £100 Festival First Prize, and starting at approximately 7pm, A Royal Night Out 2015 (12A) Running time 1hr 37min.

It is advisable to arrive early as the number of seats is limited. To reserve a seat please call 07882 891022.
