Our Personal Story

After years of Pink Heals Lower Alabama covering all of Alabama and the hearts of many desiring a local chapter, Pink Heals Upper Alabama chapter was formed. In 2016 our first truck was purchased from the Pink Heals national tour by Joe Taylor, a Gadsden fireman. This truck was named after cancer survivor Lana Calvert, Gadsden firefighter Tony Calvert’s wife. Our second truck was donated to us in 2017 by Gadsden Fire. This truck was named after cancer survivor Mechiel Underwood, a city of Gadsden employee. The trucks are named in honor or memory of someone who has been through a disease journey. They are painted pink in honor of women; the support of family. Our chapter covers all of north Alabama. We cover events and do home visits for all ages, any cancer/disease, and male/female. Cancer/diseases have no preference, can strike at any time, may be quick or long bearing. We are here to support families and loved ones that are going through the journey that diseases can take you. There is no charge for a truck to come out. We run solely on donations. If you’d like to have a truck come to your event or know someone that could be cheered with a home visit, please contact us. If you are a business, church, or someone that would like to support us through donations or help out, we would greatly appreciate it.
